I’m not sure Longchamp’s changes are for the better. I like the Metis leather although I’ve yet to use my XS bag. I like that Metis leather is foldable. I was a big fan of the old Neo line too and I’m not at all convinced by its replacement. On a positive note I really like the petal pink and may have to indulge in a small green line. 😘😘

I love the metis leather. The main thing I like about the change is the adjustable straps which wasn’t in the xs cuir line.

Je suis contente que le cuir change. Le pliage cuir est mon seul Longchamp qui s'est abîmé aussi vite! Je suis pourtant soigneuse et je ne l'ai pas beaucoup porté.

Bonjour Samascara 😘 merci pour ton commentaire 😘 mince! il est vrai que le mien s'est pas mal patiné mais pour un sac de plus de 10 ans d'âge et l'ayant vraiment trainé partout 🤣 il a une usure plus que correcte. Le nouveau cuir de vachette est bien, il est doux , bon pas aussi souple que le metis , mais bien quand même. Ce que je regrette le plus c'est le fait que les sacs ne peuvent plus se plier! J'ai tellement aimé plier le mien et le mettre dans ma valise , tellement pratique! Par contre les nouveaux sacs hobo at vanity sont mignons (surtout le vanity!!) bon weekend 😘😘

They should stick with what works well and sells but in saying that, Longchamp are known to be sustainable so perhaps this change was something that encompasses this more. I have no idea though, just speculating.

Hi. Txs for your informative vid. I just bought from outlet a small backpack in metis leather but am not sure if i should return cos my concern is : 1) the straps have a joining near the top which may fray/curlup over time when pulling the drawstring to close.. 2) the constant rainy weather of uk & sometimes carrying heavy shopping. Hi Hasina 😘 thank you so much for watching and your comment 😘 Well concerning your question: i do love metis leather, because it is really nice, soft and quite resistant. However, it is not a leather which can support rains. For rains, the best leather in my opinion is the foulonné leather. I am not afraid concerning the straps of your backpack , since the metis leather is of good quality and resistant, however with time and if you carry heavy stuff in your bag you will see some typ of bag deformation. The leather will be streched a bit too much and since it is a super soft leather, you will notice it. So, in your situation (heavy shopping) and since you are based in a country with rainy weather, i think that this typ of bag is not optimal for you. I mean you will enjoy it in spring and summer when the weather is drier but not all year long. It will be more a seasonal bag. It is up to you to think about this, if you should keep it for the nice period (because in every case it is for sure a nice bag with a nice leather) or you prefer a bag that can be used all year long in all circunstamces (in this case, maybe try to find a foulonné backpack). Hi, I purchased both the new Le Pliage Xtra Crossbody and Xtra Handbag in XS - both in Petal Pink. I am trying to decide which one to keep, if either of them. First, I love the Petal Pink color and gunmetal hardware but there are some cons to both bags. I am considering both as a small travel bag. I think the Crossbody may be a bit too small. For the Xtra Handbag in XS, I find it a bit difficult to get into the bag because of the location of the D rings and strap adjacent to the zipper and also the fact that you have to lift the flap inside the handles to get access. I do like the detachable, adjustable strap. With the Crossbody the strap is not detachable. I don't mind the zipper access on the front. Do you have any thoughts on which you would keep? I am wondering if one of the Longchamp web straps would work with the Xtra Handbag but I'm not sure because of where the D rings are? In your video, which bag is the model carrying with the pastel coloured web strap? I think it may be the old version of the Handbag. I would love to know your thoughts on these two options. Thanks!

HI Janice 😘💖 thank you so much for your message and your questions. Well since you asked me i have to say i have a little preference for the XS handbag. I do have in the past the crossbody version and finally I offered it because for me it was too small and the strap was not great, too fine for me. However , what you mentionned concerning the place of the D rings as well as the difficulty of opening the bag through the D-ring and the leather flap is true. It does not bother me at all but we have to know this. It is not always the easiest bag to open. I do think the Longchamp web strap will go on Xtra XS bag since the hooks are quite big and easy to remove . In one of my video you're right i tried the web strap on the very first version of the Pliage Cuir handbag S. Hope it helps and if you have more questions please do not hesitate 😘 have a great day😘

Hi Regina 😘thank you so much😘 I touched them when I finally went to my boutique, it is soft for sure, not so soft as the metis, but still quite nice feeling in the hands. Yes i also do not like the zip in front for the crossbody bag. In fact, there is several modifications that bother me a bit 🤔 the only good thing for me are the 2 new style of bags (hobo and vanity) which can not be created with the metis leather. J'avoue que ne suis pas heureuse par rapport à l'augmentation du prix de la ligne, surtout que la lanière n'est même pas en cuir. Le cuir de vachette est-il plus chère que le cuir métis? Je regrette le pliage cuir et le pliage néo qui était vraiment mon chouchou (je n'aime pas les touches vertes de la ligne green) :,(

Bonjour Pauline 😘 merci pour votre commentaire 😘 je partage le même avis. Oui le cuir de vachette est un peu plus cher que le cuir métis d'après ce que l'on m'avait dit. Mais bon aujourd'hui un peu toutes les matières sont sujettes à l'augmentation dû à l'inflation. Je regrette aussi le pliage cuir, surtout pour le fait que les modèles S et M se plient et c'est tellement pratique!!!! Le Néo était super aussi!!! Pour la ligne green, pareil ici, je trouve dommage cette touche verte, c'est un détail mais suivant les couleurs c'est dommage. Bonne journée 😘

Hello. Does the strap in metis is comfortable? Since the strap isnt adjustable, is it okay for 5.3ft woman? I'm new comer, i wanna buy my first LC and now i'm lil bit confuse wether buy cuir metis (there is a personal shopper in my country that sell cuir metis) or buy xtra cowhide leather. Thanks ❤

Hi Daru Kinanti 😘 thank you so much for your question 😘 If I have converted well 5.3ft is around 1m61 and I am myself 1,59m so can tell you , yes the strap length of this bag in metis is comfortable and suits our size! You can wear it easily on your shoulder and even crossbody. Concerning your question between cuir metis and Xtra cowhide leather here is my answer: both leathers are great, however the metis leather is slightly softer than cowhide (which is thicker a little bit more). In fact the main differences are that the bag in metis leather: the strap is not adjustable (only removable) all in leather and your bag can be folded which is clearly practical if you want to bring it inside your suitcase! The Xtra cowhide bag has an adjustable and removable strap made in nylon canvas and the bag is no more foldable as I explain in my video. But I repeat both versions are nice it is mainly a matter of taste if you want an entire bag made in leather / or you want to have a bag that can be folded or not.
