Check out my careers in commercial banking video. There is a section on CB to PE transition which covers this subject. Hopefully I can create more content in the future on the topic. Thanks.

I'm a commercial banker from the Philippines and this was insanely helpful. Maybe a good way to do it is to further breakdown hard and soft skills required, and which websites you use to target a specific industry if you do..(for example wanting to prioritize tech compankes since it's booming)

Good video idea, yes I will add it to the list. There are lots of topics to cover in CB. Thanks for your kind words and for watching.

I’ve just started on a commercial banking rotational graduate programme. The programme seems cool. I get to do four rotations and then hopefully secure a permanent role at the end. Any tips for success?
@financekid31637 ай бұрын
Good luck with your rotation. I highly recommend you get involved in as many deals as possible + spend as much time with senior bankers. Just watching them work and talk to clients is invaluable teaching time, try to go attend as many client meetings & site visits even if that means you have to work late at night, those rational programs are awesome accelerators to learning and career development.

Does commercial banking client as hard as retail client? Sometime i find retail client very weird/ insane lol
@financekid3163 Жыл бұрын
Oh I have definitely had my fair share of "different" clients in mid-market commercial lending. Ultimately all entrepreneurs have their own unique style, it just depends on who you end up meeting rather than what market you play in.

Realistically how long does it take to go from an assistant rm/ credit analyst to an RM?
@financekid31632 жыл бұрын
1-3 years would be the range. Usually 2 years is enough to get promoted from an experience perspective, it can be quicker if you have good sales abilities already.
@galaticoera70222 жыл бұрын
@@financekid3163 Thanks man What would get me to an RM quicker, starting as an assistant RM or starting as a credit analyst?
@RacksonRacksonRibss2 жыл бұрын
@@galaticoera7022 Depends. If you're literally talking an assistant to the RM (like an admin assistant/customer care specialist) definitely a Credit Analyst. If there's a clear program to become an RM where you are an assistant RM I suppose you could go that route. But in my opinion long-run Credit Analyst is the better route. Plus down the line employers will like that you were in Credit and learned that side. Just my 2 cents.
