@@AGILISFPV well, I love flying with my buddies but some of them really don't care at all. Last time we met up at one of my spots. Been flying there for three years never had any trouble but of course everyone else kept flying near and over houses that are far away enough to not annoy the people there if you just fly the spot. Anyway, cops were called and we had to leave. I'm always trying to be respectful with my quad but some of my friends keep orbiting people, fly over traffic, close to residential houses etc. etc. ;)
@fcass4 жыл бұрын
hateetermalmaver - Actually this is a very, very good tip. I've had this happen twice. One time our group had permission to take over the Oviedo Mall here in Florida and do indoor drone racing with whoops. The new guy wanted to come with us when we had a meeting with the staff which was just fine. But I noticed he brought a GPS drone with him. I said, dood, we aren't flying today. We have to wait until the day. And dood, that drone isn't meant to fly indoors - you'd take off and then it would attempt to keep it's position and you will lose control. He said, ok. So then we split up and we hear a commotion in the food court! LoL! He launched his goofy anafi and what a surprise, it tried flying to it's last known position or something and it tried to escae through the rafters haha. Security had to bring in the big bucket lifter thingy, and needless to say our race day that we had planned for two months had to become an RC truck race. Bah! I won't bother with the other story, but that's a very good tip. If you have a favorite flying spot, don't bring someone that will ruin it for you in the future.

The first mistake is easy to correct: either create a checklist (can be a piece of paper), or have a dedicated box/backpack/... with all your stuff already in there. Or better: both. As for #6, crashing, I'd like to add: don't crash in a place where you can't retrieve your drone either. Common sense, I know. ;)

Accidentally hitting the switch on the bottom of the Fatsharks that turns the screens off when loading up your gear. You get to the flying spot excited to fly. Get all your gear setup and plug in your goggles for your first flight and get nothing. Then drive all the way home depressed thinking your goggles died only to realize as soon as you walk in the door to your house that it was just that damn switch. I've 100% done that at least once lol!

The tips are probably great by themselves. I just wish this could've been a blogpost that took about 30 seconds to read instead of 10 minutes of video. Oscarliang is a god-send, I think. When you google anything related to FPV, almost all the results are tedious videos. Some of them are good, granted, but I wish the people who has all this expertise could just post it as text instead. For example, for PID tuning, videos are better, because you can see and hear how the quad changes behavior. For other things though, text is superior. And, if you think you missed a step, you don't have to spool back and forth to try to find the exact second the presenter gave a certain detail.
@IshamPadron4 жыл бұрын
It would be nice if you guys would put together an etiquette video. Some examples are NOT trying to be cool with friends and land at your feet while blasting 1w as well as plugging in your quad right next to someone else that is flying. Not plugging in without checking with folks that have already been flying to see what the best frequencies and power levels to be on. Track vs Fstyling at a park. 25mw on IMD6 for track possibly/4 taking turns at a park with higher (agreed upon) VTX power. If you're at a park that is frequented by dog walkers to make sure that folks not flying take on the role of Visual Observer so that pilots are aware of obstacles or if someone is on the field to retrieve a lost quad they call out that out loud enough for people to hear. I try to make sure when I fly with a crew that we have some kind of system in place. It's never a free for all. If no one is leading, i'll assume that role, but it would be nice if others knew a few things about organizing and took the initiative.

Number one... just got me. New quad ready to field test, batteries, bag, etc. get to the field and hard land on the first battery and pop a screw off the frame... NO TOOLS!!!!! Ugh. Always pack the necessities!!!!!!

Disconnecting the neckstrap from the tx. I've dropped my tx twice in 20 years.. both times with the strap still around my neck :/ Keep it attached, hang onto the strap.

I won't be hitting up rotor riot when I crash because of the shipping and premiums we pay for the name even though I would really like to.. I wish there was a UK🇬🇧 Rotor Riot shop.. I've just ordered this week: fortini f4, tmotor F60 v3 x4 motors, diatone GTR MK3 5" Frame, speedybee f4, flywoo leds x6, caddix camera, floss 5" frame 😊 p.s really enjoyed the retro footage of Scitzo and Drew 👍👏🎉
