I'm a big proponent of hugging the line but #5 certainly makes me question that philosophy. Bottom line is that you need to be flexible and assess who can cook better in the kitchen.

I've started to keep some distance from the line and it really helps me. It's easier for me to go forward towards the ball than backwards.

Fantastic tips!! I loved the one about speeding it up in front of you. I sometimes speed it up cross court thinking that I’m creating a triangle effect for my partner. Hahaha then I would think “I’m really setting them up for a winner. Why aren’t their hands faster? 😂” Wonderful video as always!!

I'm curious as to what paddles everyone is using? Great video as usual.
@thatpickleballguy
@thatpickleballguy 19 күн бұрын
Here’s the paddle I use. It’s the “power air” www.selkirk.com/products/vanguard-air-s2?variant=40179483344998 Note, I specifically use the “prestige color.” I haven’t run a test on this, but I think it has a little more spin than the other power airs. :) If you’re looking for a less expensive option, I’d go with this one - www.selkirk.com/products/slk-halo?variant=39964829188198 And, I prefer the “power” version. It still has very good touch, in my opinion, but has a little extra pop :) If you go with either of these use my code, “ADV-thatpickleballguy” and you’ll get a digital gift card toward a future purchase.

They got the Pythagorean Theorem wrong! The formula is indeed , but this is when "C" represents the hypotenuse in the triangle. In their diagram at 1:02 , "b" is the hypotenuse. So if "b" is the hypotenuse, the formula doesn't work!

I disagree with the logic of #1. Your plan of taking the LONGER DISTANCE crosscourt SHOT is flawed. Your goal should rarely (if ever) be to give your opponent MORE TIME to gather themselves and plan for their return … and unfortunately that’s what your cross-court shot accomplishes… It gives my opponent more time to gather themselves and respond. Bad plan! The best you can make out of a cross court shot in that instance would be to try to split your opponents… But even that is a longer shot than going directly at your opponent.
