I've read those same books by Blake Crouch, Dark Matter also being my favorite - besides his Wayward Pines trilogy .. omg so good. More mystery/thriller/survival action-y but still scifi flavor. If you have seen and enjoyed the show Twin Peaks, you may also enjoy this trio.

Knock on wood, but I’m currently feeling a lot better. The neurological stuff comes in waves, so I’m nervous about if/when the next wave is, but for now I’m just sailing on the fact that I feel good in the moment 💖 I’m starting my 9th Lost rewatch after the new year - it’s funny how we pick things up without realizing it, I call people brother also (thank you, Desmond) The Abyss and The Mist are immediately high on my lists, how the mist ended…..chef’s kiss. I think a lot of people are quietly reeling from the election but not talking much about it, so I appreciate you mentioning it. With graphic novels there’s a huge diversity in styles and tones and subjects, very hit or miss. It’s visual medium so you have to really like the art style foremost. I’m not a big comics guy but I enjoyed Saga (fiction) and Persepolis (nonfiction). The Abyss and Princess Mononoke are S-tier, facts. I also love Gattaca, I remember doing a whole watch-party presentation thing for my college film club. Nerrrrrd Glad you’re back, I still have Moon Spider in my queue because of you, maybe I’ll go do some self-gift book-shopping tonight. Cheers

Upgrade was a bit of a downgrade lol Re graphic novels: I'm the same way, I hate having to slow down to look at the pictures and take in visual information. I think certain art styles are a lot easier for my brain to interpret, I like an art style that's pretty simplistic and uses light/bright colors. If you do decide to pick up another graphic novel, I'd recommend Nayra and the Djinn which is a really cute coming-of-age story by a Palestinian author, or Fence which is a queer story following a boys fencing team I also watched both Bottoms and Kiki's Delivery Service in the last few months! Kiki was a rewatch for me but I loved both movies Also Spirit slayyyyyys tysm for reminding to rewatch it

RE James Corden: 😂 Only thing he's done I've liked was Gavin & Stacy but thats because the rest of the cast are funnier than him. Loved Spirit and Atlantis as a kid. I'd 0 idea Watchers was set in Ireland As a fan of comics and graphic novels, I'm sad but I understand 😂 Have you tried any of the Marvel Comics? Would that series happen to be Robin Hobb's Realm of the Elderlings? ;) If so i happen to be halfway through the final book right now. My other guess is Joe Abercrombie's First Law.
