5 More DLC-Sized Quest Mods to Get You to Reinstall Fallout 4

What I want to see is someone just adding more content to areas that lack it... like Vault 88. Maybe some better Preston missions. The Galleria is such a cool location, but there is just nothing to do there. Put some mini-games and a few missions. Far Harbor really needs the harbor people o give you more missions to help you explore the island more. Nuka World needs a lot of stuff. First they need more missions if you side with the Traders. Do stuff like do something to one of the clans and frame it on the other. Help unlock the collars, help find some of the Traders that are hiding (instead of just finding bodies), find them a weapons cache, then have them help you take out the last faction. Then they will give you missions to unlock the parks for them and turn the power on. It would be cool to see some caravans wandering around too... Maybe going to settlements to trade. I hate feeling like I am the ONLY customer for all my venders...

The mods you might be looking for are nuka world reborn and its sequel viva nuka world. I haven't played either one myself but from the discriptions they add exactly what you're looking for.

For the settlers part, you should check out Sim Settlements 2. There's travelling NPCs that will visit your settlements and such.

I was thinking today. How has no one added more detective side missions for the valentine detective agency? There are 2 in vanilla and that's it. The one with the doctor and the grasshoper shem dorwne thing. Seems an era that modders could easily expand on. Either with elaborate noir style missions with twists and turns OR just simple repeatable radiant quests for missing persons. Rescuing kidnapped people or negotiating ransoms.

I'm the co-creator of South of the Sea, if you play this mod I made roughly half of the new levels. We had so much more planned for this mod but feature creep is definitely a thing, and Baerthe and I are extremely happy that the community picked up the torch and kept this mod going after we could not keep spending endless hours on developing it after ~5 years of development. I will share that there was an entire storyline written about the "Prophet" of the children of Atom, but it became so immense that we spent all of our time bug-fixing and trying to optimize the nightmare that is the FO4 engine, and it finally became too much and we open-sourced the project. I played this game on Xbox at launch before it had any mod support or DLC. Did like a dozen or so vanilla playthroughs and loved it. Haven’t touched the game since about early 2016 until the last couple weeks, but now I’m finally playing on a high-end pc. For me, the ability to mod the game years after the dlc has launched and being able to tweak essentially every single aspect of the game with mods has made me fall in love with this game once again. I’m so glad to have stumbled across this channel!

I’ve been picking up quest / new content mods, but only those that are compatible with SS2. So far, I’ve picked up Tales of the Commonwealth, South of the Sea, and the Bleachers, all of which have SS2 patches or otherwise should be compatible. I’ll be looking into Heart of Darkness and Fourville from this video as well. With those as well as the main game and DLC, there should be enough content to play for a long time.

Would that break the precombines just near its entrance? Still trying to figure out why I get CTD in downtown Boston on a newer playthrough (Years later) when I didn't have that with the same mod list on a prior one (Where I installed that in-progress), and I did try swapping a bunch of those mods in and out..... Could this be the reason, even though it should be affecting an area far away?

I'm playing South of The Sea right now and it adds a LOT to the game, expanding the Glowing Sea and the Children of Atom. I hope you can review two of my other favorites: The Bleachers - A Diamond City Story (by MunkySpunk) and Sim Settlers 2 (by kinggath and the Sim Settlements Team). Both of these mods are definitely are DLC in size and scope, in active development for sequels, have constant updates, and a fairly large supportive community. I want less new quests, and more fleshing out the existing factions and expanding on the existing DLCs. Some mods that expand the questing for the Railroad, Minutemen, Institute, BOS, Children of Atom, etc. New quests are all well and good, but too many new things like that and it becomes almost bloated.

@@kidanhone6048 What I had in mind was adding new lore friendly characters/companions to the game that give quests that are both interesting and have an impact on the Commonwealth. Say for example I add in a unique BoS questgiver with his own voice acting and personality, and he sends you to claim an outpost for the Brotherhood to increase their presence, only for things to go awry and it turns into a mini adventure. Just like that, if done right, the faction presence can be more fleshed out with more things to do and more impact on the worldspace

The last three are definately going into my next playthrough. I've been looking for mods to expand the Institute because of how poorly written it is and I wanted to try out the "Subversion" ending mod as a way to be the director of the Institute while leaving the railroad alive and keeping the Brotherhood on their little peninsula without hurting them. All four main factions have characters I absolutely love in them. So much so that when Glory and Scribe Haylen die in the railroad ending i tell them "see you next game, miss you both!" That's a reaction I typically save solely for Mass Effect character deaths. But its also a reaction I haven't been able to voice and a stumbling block that makes it very hard for me to bear down and finish Fallout 4. This is why I'm thinking of adding Subversion to my load order and keeping it there. And if you haven't done it and Mutant Menagerie yet, I strongly reccomend checking them out. I've just finished Rocket's Red Glare and after Nuclear Option there's going to be a ton of stuff to do. I'm also going to look into how I can use mods or commands to force 'Resettle Refugees' to begin regardless of whether or not I sided with the Minutemen. After the post game I'm going to make a backup file of this particular playthrough and start over with whatever expansion mods tickle my fancy.

A lot of modders seem obsessed with the Gunners. Thuggysmurf's mods reimagine them as secretly being Enclave Remnants. Sim Settlements 2 also overhauls them and reimagines why they do what they do.

Because gunners are so undeveloped i original game. We know that they have lots of firepower and are orginised but we dont know about theirs origin, motivation, meaning. They exist only for be player enemy. Its Perfect target for modders to give them some identity. Sorry for my bad english

I just started a fairly big quest mod playthrough. I started with Sim Settlements 2 (and Chapter 2), and just found big quest mods that had SS2 patches, so I’d know they should be compatible. I wound up with SS2, Tales from the Commonwealth, South of the Sea, and the Bleachers. I have played Welcome to Goodneighbor before but it had some bugs with recruiting settlers, so I replaced it with a smaller Goodneighbor expansion instead. I’ll check into Heart of Darkness and Fourville to see if they’re SS2 compatible.

I don't know what's going on with South of The Sea mod. I tryed to download it. it says I need a HEAP of other mods just to get it to work. Then when I try to down load. some of those mods need other mods to work. something like 7 or 8 mods just to play one. then they was a conflict in the mods. I only down loaded what was linked to. I don't know how or if I stuffed up. But now I cant find some armor mod that needed, but wasn't even on the needed mods list. all other mods downloaded with any issues I could find. But I haven't try playing with them active yet.
