Hey Bob, love the video! Quick question - I just purchased a CF-20 and while the touchpad works, I am not able to use two-finger scroll and only have the option for mouse sensitivity in windows touchpad settings. Any advice for fixes to this issue? I've tried driver updates from Panasonic as well with no luck.

CF-20 touchpad doesn't have 2-finger scroll capabilities; only 1-finger scroll (right corner)

I bought this model used and for a season it worked very well and then we hit our hot Florida summer. He uses this model to do home inspections. We live in Florida and he has come home and found that the pictures he has taken come out black instead of what he was shooting. Why is this happening? Is there a solution? Also, where is your repair shop because we definitely need his mouse pad replaced!

Bob, great video. Question about the Touchpad failing. I just bought a refurbished CF-20 with Win 10 Pro OS from Amazon and the Touchpad is not working. I updated the OS, and it worked for one minute until a reboot during an update install. I removed the current mouse device from Device Manager, downloaded and installed the CF-20 Touchpad Driver from the Panasonic site and it still doesn't work. I let Windows search for a proper driver also and it keeps choosing "HID-compliant mouse". When I go to Settings, there is no Touchpad listed on the left. Only Mouse. Any suggestions?

Hi Vamackies, sometimes the connection to base can get interrupted if it is not secured well in the base. You could try undocking it from the base and docking it again. You could also try shutting the computer off and cleaning the contacts between the tablet and the base. For cf20. Do you know if there is any setup to have a battery balancing option? To use power simultaneously from both batteries, to avoid consuming totally just one battery and the other not. I observed that the battery wear for the "keyboard" component of the cf20 is wearing faster than the other one. Probably because is kept more time with SOC lower than 20%.

You should do a issue video on the CF-33. Fist one screen lasted a year failed was covered under warranty, said they have never seen that happen before. 9 weeks later finally got my replacement brand new replacement at that mine was unable to be repaired now 10 months later screen has failed again on the brand new replacement.

Just picked up my Mark 1, everything works well EXCEPT that the touchpad and USB ports on the base keep disconnecting from the tablet. If I remove the tablet from the base, and re-install, it works well for a little while. Have you seen this issue happen?

Ran into an intermittent issue with the touchpad not working. Everything else on the detachable keyboard seems fine. Any ideas? This is a CF-20A5023VM and the base is a CF-VEK201LMP. I had a weird issue occur with my CF-20 today. The touchpad stopped working and an external mouse only works from the left-side USB port on the monitor. The base is not the issue. I have another CF-20 and swapping bases didn't help - the problem stuck with the monitor portion. Also odd is that external HDDs work just fine from the base's USB ports. It's just the mouse that won't work.

Hey bob, quick question, is possible put my Windows 10 operating system from my laptop to run on this Panasonic? Just replacing the ssd. I got some heavy software which has about 350gb

The problem with that is you don't have the Panasonic drivers currently on that drive if it's not a CF-20. Without the drivers, you could loose some functionality on the Toughbook. We would recommend a fresh Windows 10 load with all the drivers. Thanks for watching.

I have two Panasonic CF52s and from day one I received them I could not run the laptop from a brand new battery. I would have to plug in a brand new charger to get them to work. I want to be able to use them without the charger on the road in my car. Any help would be helpful.

Sadly no. The RAM on the CF-20 is soldered on to the system board so it's not upgradable. If you wanted one with 16GB of RAM you would have to get one that already has it installed. Hopefully this helps, thanks for watching.

The RAM is not upgradeable in the CF-20.

the battery issue seems to be more and more common with L-ion batteries. No matter whether HP, Panasonic, Dell, ect. It seems ALL of them are starting to have severe selling issues.

Hi MyJeepWaves, you're right. Although they are great for a shorter charge time at first, "capacity fade" is a pretty common occurrence with Lithium Ion batteries. Hopefully the science of battery making can improve to solve this issue one day soon!

My CF-31 is over 10 years old and shows no noticably battery degradation at all. I think the smaller the batteries are the sooner they have to be replaced.

Not really a minor issue for a supposedly ruggedized $5k laptop to lose its port covers so easily and become completely open to water and dust ingress! I hope they've learned their lesson on meet models like the CAT phones did that ports must be inherently IP rated, not dependant on a little flap that could brick the whole thing in an instant if it fails to seal!
