Hey thanks for watching! Here are some of my favorite techniques based on wing chun concepts. Which one do you like best? #5, #4, #3, #2, #1?
@cydominicsoh95228 жыл бұрын
#1 is the best~
@zerothehero1238 жыл бұрын
The fingerjab and oblique kick, because I also train those in jkd. I wouldn't extend the fingers completely when throwing a fingerjab, instead throw it at a slight angle with slightly bent and loose fingers. If you can throw it against a wall without hurting yourself it will be safe to throw against an opponent.
@mightymeatmonsta8 жыл бұрын
NONE, since you really don't know wing chun. If you take crappy JKD with your wing chun, that only means you don't know the real wing chun, the traditional. How long have you been studying anyway? You only learn the five deadliest techniques AFTER you learn the basic techniques, and footwork, along with the TEN CONCEPTS, which I can BET, you've never heard of before. JKD is just a second rate martial art because it only uses 5 concepts instead of all ten, and uses other stiff, crappy systems, like karate and muay thai. For wing chun to work properly, you must know the WHOLE SYSTEM, including proper footwork, proper way to close the distance, and the ten concepts, which not only dictates proper response in a fight, but also gives the system it's flexibility. You must also use ALL TEN CONCEPTS AT ONCE when using the system. Even taking ONE out, like the triangle, as they do in crappy JKD, then that weakens the structure and the system and causes openings that can be exploited by your opponent. Remember, TRADITIONAL wing chun is the ONLY FULLY CONCEPTUAL MARTIAL ART ON THE PLANET! This means that the response is based on concepts, NOT techniques, which make the system stiff and rigid, and limited in it's response to an attack.

+mightymeatmonsta did this guy really just bash Bruce lee?

NO, I bashed JKD, which is a second-rate system. The only reason why JKD worked for Bruce is that he was superhuman in his skills and speed.

when a boxer start to block the best way to mount an attack is to use a decoy strike to the forearm and strike with a lethal strike to the lower stomach region, but you also have to be quick , for the opponent has many openings to strike back if not fast enough

Interesting video, a different take on wing chun then I'm used to seeing, however people are saying it is JKD and not Wing Chun... I wouldn't know, I'm not terribly familiar with wing chun, have only seen some videos about it. Only thing I don't care about is your demonstration partner. Just because you throw on some camo and a krav maga shirt doesn't mean you know krav maga. He doesn't even know the basic stance, and he clearly didn't know how to burst when you were demonstrating how to defend against an advancing opponent. Anyways, pretty cool seeing similar aged people showing love for their art, keep it up.

@zachariaravenheart8 жыл бұрын
Try it out. It works for me. Though it's harder to use footwork while kicking, which isn't great for chain punch. Chain punch would be best used while advancing on your opponent. Good luck with your training! :D

Well Executed but this is more JKD that Wing Chung. These techniques can work for young, thinner snappy type body. But as always you must have the relaxed but focused mind under the stress of real attack. The strike to the elbow is not likely to do any damage really on larger person. Of course if you can do it with full body torque and real power it can have an effect. But few will achive that in an actual fight. Even so I like the video instruction and it will have alue to many.

I do use finger jabs, but it does open an opportunity for the opponent to duck his head and you end up striking the forehead. Which can result in broken or jammed fingers.

2 alternatives for biu sau, ginger fist or pheonix eye fist, they both take less time to train, alot less time another small note is on chain punch, you can use it like gum sau.. you strike with forearms to climb/sink bridge, this opens gate for straight punch

but what do you do whenever the guy is 50+ lbs heavier than you, in muscle, and he charges/tackles you. no amount of having your arm or leg out is going to stop you from falling under his weight, being pinned on the ground, and having the crap beat out of you (figurative you, not you directly).

4:26 this is the worst position a wing chun practitioner can be in. In wing chun you do not move your upper body like that. your shoulders and hips need to stay parallel at all times and cover your center line. there is no ducking or rolling or whatever body movements in wing chun.
@mightymeatmonsta7 жыл бұрын
Correct. That is what happens when you do modified wc. There are only LIMITED guidelines to follow so they have a tendency to supplement their systems with other, stiff and crappy systems. This DOES NOT HAPPEN in traditional!

Just use your heel and stomp down at the target ie. jaw, groin, ribs etc. Stomping when someone is down is easy, getting them to that position takes training.

how does one know he is getting real wing chun lessons. in Massachusetts there are a lot of "commercial" schools, I need / want to learn inner stand over stand real wing chun for self and son age 6. any info highly appreciated
@mightymeatmonsta7 жыл бұрын
You may have to settle for modified wc if you can't find a good traditional school and just supplement his training with traditional footwork, proper way to close the distance and anti-takedown and grappling techniques from wing chun right here on you tube. The footwork is not hard to learn. It is a circle inside a triangle, so all it is is a circular movement to the outside of the attacking arm, moving at a 45 degree angle and a body rotation square. To close the distance properly, I would recommend you read Beginning Wing Chun by Alan Gibson, a master and former student of Wong Shun Leung.
@iamtheiiamme89917 жыл бұрын
Yahew bless you appreciate the information graciously. Be well
@mightymeatmonsta7 жыл бұрын
Thank you. Like I said, find a good school, one that teaches good basics like a strong structure, proper way to do the techniques, and does the proper drills and you can learn the rest right here on you tube.

Cool Southern style I know a old man from China town in NYC who combined both north and south style even though he's 72 years old he moves just as quick as a 28 year old man he told us the styles was created by a woman do you anything about this I always wondered about this story but every time I try to research it I cant find the history behind it just looking for some insight
@angelomendoza15038 жыл бұрын
Most people I tell this to tell me the old man is crazy and doesn't know what he is talking about but I still believe in his history of the style I'm just wondering if other wing Chun masters know about this

is there a knife training on traditional wing chun or is this a contemporary wing chun premises? :-)
@frequencyexpert8 жыл бұрын
Wing chun has the bart cham dao form (butterfly knives). But traditionally, they don't teach how to defend AGAINST a knife attack with the wing chun form. I have combatives training which is big on defending against knife attacks, so I combine that with wing chun and it works quite well.
@markandoyo27948 жыл бұрын
thank you, and i hope that your clips has only for the educational purposes only, instead of to training with the part of the blackbelt mill witch has not ideal on your respected clumsier skills, god bless you! i'm a fan of JKD/Wing Chun :-)

Does wing chun have the false attack like jkd?
@frequencyexpert8 жыл бұрын
Traditional wing chun doesn't tend to fake, since one of the main wing chun principles is to be direct.
@thomastrinh19788 жыл бұрын
Even though wing chun does not teach ground fighting but it is principles based, can you still understand the ground? Jkd does not have weapons and someone told me if I want to learn weapons with jkd then I need to learn the Filipino martial arts such as escrima but to save time can I just understand weapons from wing chun techniques with jkd? Combine jkd, wing chun, chen tai chi?
@joshuawilkerson82598 жыл бұрын
Wing Chun, Tai Chi, JKD, Kung Fu - Sifu David dude you are awesome wou wouldn't fight you
@mightymeatmonsta7 жыл бұрын
It DOES teach ground fighting in the TRADITIONAL system! It is the ONLY system that is complete! The others are incomplete and crappy. NO, you should NEVER mix wing chun, especially traditional wing chun, since the system is already complete and you would DESTROY the wing chun, which runs on CONCEPTS, not techniques. The only exceptions would be something like tai chi, which would help the practitioner increase his chi and power.

I don´t recomment a finger strike to the eyes while doing a power punch to go in... If you´r already in close combat you can strike to the eyes but from this position its dangerous for your fingers and youre full open to the enemy... Its like a glass canon if you hit the eyes its good...if you don´t hit your hurt yourself...
@thelastking31728 жыл бұрын
A good Jab to the eye socket usually does the trick. Sometimes rupturing it and causing either temporary blindness, swelling, or a ton of pain. Either one opens up space and time for you to make your next move.
@thelastking31728 жыл бұрын
Plus if you miss the eye with your fist, you still hit the face, chin or head. Neither one should cause to much harm to your hand, unlike if you were finger striking, but it is an extra hit you just got in on your opponent. Now follow it up.
@thelastking31728 жыл бұрын
But then again, I practice various different Martial Arts so, I kinda just say decimate your enemy through any means possible(if it comes to that, always try to avoid conflict).
