That's not what happened with Wes. Neil Olshey and the other player personnel staff members didn't contact him, put out a hand, say anything, or give him an offer. They simply acted as if he didn't exist. Wes was surprised, hurt, and miffed by such disrespect, and couldn't believe how much audacity our staff on this team had. So he begrudgingly went on to search elsewhere at first, then became happy to search elsewhere knowing he'd be better off with another team who's player personnel staff wanted him and would not be so disrespectful. Most of us Blazer fans were just as miffed, surprised and irritated by it as Wes himself was. Wes was our main man when it came down to fan favorites, alongside Nic. Wes was the glue guy and energizer. Yes, he ruptured his Achilles which is of concern, especially at his age. That said, we, the fans who consistently have had to deal with injury prone players galore were still confident in him coming back and playing well, unlike most players. That says a hell of a lot. Wes wasn't a guy all about the money by any means, he simply didn't get an offer at all from the Blazers, and they pretended he didn't exist effectively, giving no communication whatsoever to him at any point in time. Pure disrespect and bad business.
