Thank you for making your videos fast and to the point. A lot of other backpacking videos take too long to get to the point.

A No cost tip that has improved my sleep during cold weather trips. 1. 1 quart Nalgene bottle. 2. Camp stove Before bedtime, fill Nalgene bottle with boiling water. Place hot water bottle in wool sock. I usually also wrap in a piece of down outerwear. Place in foot of sleeping bag. If your feet are warm you will be too. Heart rate slows during when sleep and circulation to feet slows. I’ve never had a bottle leak, but I only use them for a couple years then toss.

I have two loft tek jackets, large and extra large. The large is great for around town, and I picked up the extra large to allow room for layers. It never occurred to me to use both jackets at once. Sounds like a great idea.

It works really well, I definitely recommend it for colder days or trips!

how much total weight are you carrying. thank you for all you do.

It varies with each trip and the circumstances of what is needed, but usually around 30-35 lbs for winter backpacking with the warmer gear and layers.
