5 Must Do Things in ABU DHABI (CORNICHE, EMIRATES PALACE, FERRARI WORLD, LOUVRE ABU DHABI, AND SHEIKH ZAYED GRAND MOSQUE)
#1 ABU DHABI CORNICHE
The Corniche Road runs for 8km through the heart of Abu Dhabi. There are restaurants, hotels, beaches, and a marina located along the corniche. At the end of the Corniche Road, there are 3 famous Abu Dhabi landmarks. The first is Qasr al Watan, the Presidential Palace. Then there are the Etihad Towers and Emirates Palace.
#2 - EMIRATES PALACE
Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi is a 5 star luxury hotel on the beautiful corniche. It is open to the public and free to enter. Visitors are permitted to tour the lobby, exhibitions, and restaurants.
We wanted to visit Emirates Palace to try the 23K gold coffee at Le Cafe. It's called the Emirates Palace Cappuccino, and it costs 75 dirhams ($20).
We really enjoyed touring the lobby of the hotel. The ceiling of the main dome is spectacular. It is made with gold, mother of pearl, and crystals. Another beautiful area of the palace is the gigantic fountain in the front.
#3 FERRARI WORLD ABU DHABI
Ferrari World is located on Yas Island in the UAE capital of Abu Dhabi. Ferrari World is made up of 5 zones.
In the Welcome Zone, we learned how the Ferrari pit crew changes a tire. We also got to race against the clock to see how well we would do at changing a tire on a Ferrari.
In the Italian Zone, it felt like we were transported to Italy. Here we rode the Fiorano GT Challenge. We also rode The Speed of Magic which is a 4D simulator ride. Also in the Italian Zone is Bell' Italia. Here we explored a mini-Italy while riding in a 1958 small scale Ferrari. Made in Maranello is another ride in the Italian Zone of Ferrari World. The ride takes you on a tour of the Ferrari factory to see how a Ferrari GT is made. For dining in the Italian Zone, there is Mamma Rossella.
In the Adventure Zone, Ali went to Karting Academy where he drifted in an electric go cart. He also did the Scuderia Challenge which was an F1 racing simulator.
In the F1 Zone, we got to see the "hypercars'' exhibition called Galleria Ferrari. Here there were several cars on display. Also in the F1 Zone is the Formula Rossa. It's the world's fastest roller coaster. It can reach 240km/h in just 4.9 seconds.
#4 THE LOUVRE ABU DHABI
The ABU DHABI LOUVRE is an art museum located in the UAE capital. It opened in 2017 and has around 600 art pieces.
The museum building is so unique and beautiful. The dome is interesting because its pattern is made up of stars that let sunlight in to create a 'rain of light' effect.
The museum is broken up into 4 wings. Each wing has 3 galleries.
After finishing up with the galleries, went outside to admire the building and dome. There are places that you can sit and enjoy the serenity of the outdoor areas.
#5 SHEIKH ZAYED GRAND MOSQUE
The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque was the vision of the founder of the UAE, Sheikh Zayed.
We started off our tour of the mosque by making our way through the Tolerance Path to the main entrance. Entrance to the mosque is free. You can also take a guided tour of the mosque for free as well. At the entrance to the mosque, you will see the courtyard. The mosaic on the floor of the courtyard is the largest in the world. Walking along the pathways around the mosque, there are beautifully decorated columns. Each column was handcrafted and inlaid with stones. In the main prayer hall, we were able to see the largest of the chandeliers as well as the world's largest carpet. We were fortunate to be able to visit the mosque before sunset, so we got views during the day and at night. At night, the mosque is lit up using a special lighting system that follows the phases of the moon.

Abu Dhabi houses local and federal government offices and is the home of the United Arab Emirates Government and the Supreme Petroleum Council.
