That Metabarons box set is so awesome! I recently picked it up from IST and I can't wait to read it. Also looking forward to Black Science vol 3 next month!

With so many sci-fi comics, for some reason I end up wishing the books were prose and the worlds more fully fleshed out.

Love your reviews man! I think you're the first person I've heard give a good overview of Saga, which is something that's been on my list to pick up for a little while now... Black Science also looks really cool too, I guess that'll have to go on the list too!

You should read, Do androids dream of electric sheep? It's a comic book adaptation from the novel of the same name. It's Blade Runner for those who don't know the book those movies were based on.

Rai seems interesting. Is there a hardcover available for it? IST had 'Valiant Masters Rai HC Vol 01' is that it?
@iamthomasjudge4 жыл бұрын
The Rai series is collected in one OHC but is MASSIVELY out of print. The Valiant Masters series is the older Rai series from the 90s, not the 2012 reboot discussed here. I have an overview series on my channel if you're interested!

Hey Mike. Great video, man! Sci-fi is a great genre, & I haven't read any of the 5 u mentioned, so thanx for the reviews! I would have to say sci-fi/horror(horror/sci-fi)is probably my favorite sci-fi, but I do luv cyberpunk-type stuff a lot too! The 1st "Blade Runner" trade by Titan is awesome! I LUV both "Blade Runner" movies(+ the animated shorts that connect the 2!)! The "Altered Carbon" gn(I forget it's full title🤔) is a fun read. The Netflix series is really good(though I haven't seen all of it yet)! There are some others I really like, but can't think of right now. As far as sci-fi/horror goes, I've really, really, REALLY enjoyed the 1st 3 volumes of "John Carpenter's Tales of Science Fiction"(haven't read the others yet)!!! And Garth Ennis' "Caliban" is awesome as well! Again, there are plenty others, but my brain just can't think of them. Have been sick again lately, & it's just taking a lot out of me man. Starting to feel pretty discouraged. But I'm gonna try my best not to give in to the negative feelings & be as positive as possible. Thanx for another great video Mike! Very much appreciated!☺👍🏻👍🏻

Chewy 16 Oh wow I completely forgotten about CALIBAN! What a wild sci fi horror combo! Well it looks like I have some more reading to do 🤓 Thank you for the suggestions! Hope everything has been good with you buddy

@@TheHardcoverComic Thanx man. Just trying to stay positive & get thru these flare-ups the best I can. It's hard sometimes, but I appreciate the encouragement & well-wishes I receive from u guys. It always helps to get emotional support. 😊 Glad u thought "Caliban" was a cool book too! In some ways, it kinda reminded me of the movie, "Event Horizon"-- which I absolutely LUV! Anyways, thanx again for both a fun video & the kind remarks! Hope u & Matt & ur families are doing well & staying safe!❤

A solid vid! Metabarons was a difficult read for me due to the dialogue, I found it quite dated. I'd like to recommend the sci-fi series "Letter 44" published by Oni Press. Cool if you could review it as well ✌😎

Black Science, my absolute favorite. Any chance the movie maker would pay good money to the screen writers to make finally a movie (or a series)??? Remember, everything begins with a good script. CGI is not everything.

I'd like to offer up the fine _Trees_ by Warren Ellis and Jason Howard - I think they may be hardback (trade paperback if not) imagecomics.com/comics/releases/trees-three-fates-1-of-5 and imagecomics.com/comics/series/trees and _Tales from the Loop_ which went from a series of evocative paintings to a Prime TV series - which is also well worth a watch. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tales_from_the_Loop and www.skybound.com/tales-from-the-loop

Hey Mike, i follow your videos and i enjoy your content. But there is something that is bothering me. And i noticed it in other videos as well. Its just constructive criticism from one of your subscribers. Not my intention to disrespect anyone. 😊 It feels like you just sit there and just come up with (interesting) lists or segments with the books that you liked. You dont make a small research to refresh your memories. For example, in what format the stories are available, or who published them,when are they releasing etc. It feels rushed. You could say that you are not google, and i completely understand that. But i feel it adds more depth, love and care to your presentation, especially since you are so knowledgable about comics. Cheers 👍

I agree - even just listing the title and publishers - with or without links - in the Introduction would be a great help and service. I find it perplexing that the host would choose to 'rave ' about one of his five favourites and _not_ have the creator and publisher data at his fingertips, seems disrespectful really - specifically the excellent _Rock & Stone_ by Nicolas Jean and Yann Valeani - translated from the original French and published by *Delcourt* (a major French comic / bande dessines publisher) www.editions-delcourt.fr/serie/rock-and-stone-t01.html

We are keen on exploring potential collaboration or seeking guidance from you regarding this matter. Could we arrange a discussion to delve deeper into this purpose and explore possible avenues for collaboration or assistance from your end? Looking forward to your response. Thank you

This list is bad, but its not your fault. getting your hands on the european classics is realy hard outside of europe. You see stuff stolen from Valerian and laureline pretty much everytime you watch anything sci-fi ut getting the books is realy hard. and Loan Sloane who wuld be a contender for no 1 is as even more rare...
