What I appreciate the most here is your showing your struggles too. It’s so easy to think other techs are just perfect at what they do because that’s all you see in a lot of posts or pictures on Instagram, it severely knocked my confidence in doing nails all together because I felt I wasn’t good enough. I’ve been qualified 14 years and it’s taken a lot to get to a point I felt confident. I hate that other techs feel this too. Thank you for showing us the full process and what it takes when your learning a new technique xx

Nail tech here - absolutely love the idea of this “ let Try this together fail & win” try’s. While Watching videos of just doing something then done is informative, THIS is 10x better. We the watcher get to experience things in every phase because even the searches of other pages, do overs, all of it gives us our choices or options 👍🏼 and as an artist my self Nothing is a failure just another to each it’s own abstract art…. 🤟🏼. New follower here 👋🏽 much luck & blessings on your future endeavors

Nail hobbyist here! I LOVE this video. I admire you excessively. Your skills, your logical approach to the techniques, your politics, ahem, everything. My big takeaway from this is: ITS NOT MY FAULT when I try something or follow a tutorial and fail (which is 70% of the time). If someone as skilled as you doesn’t hit it on the first try due to materials or whatever, I still have a chance. I just need to try other things. My sense of well-being (which is tied to being good at things) has improved so much with this video. THANK YOU!!

I’m a nail hobbyist 🤪 my favorites are the middle and ring fingers. I did a design where I applied black base with matte top coat, hand painted the snake skin design with chrome gel from daily charm, burnished the chameleon chrome powder, then topped it with glossy top coat-creating a 3D texture. I learned this technique from Kirsty Meakins on her Naio Nails KZbin channel. I recommend it!

I recently learned the bubbles technique. My teacher said “the bigger the bubbles the better”
@blingaway4 жыл бұрын
I think it was Kirsty Meakin doing bubbles who added gel cleanser (alcohol?) to her soap and water bubble solution to get bigger bubbles. I wonder what glycerin would do, it makes them bigger when you blow bubbles into the air with with bubble wands.

nail hobbyist here! thick layer of top coat before adding the bubbles will give you more definition, but i like a thin coat with subtle design ‘cause i’m not the biggest fan of the rough texture the thick coat leaves behind. i’ve heard shampoo works well for making bubbles but haven’t tried it myself.

Tabytha....for the bubbles....use a tiny hand held whisk to whip up the bubbles, and using a Halo nail polish would or color changing polish looks really radical! Cure the nail with the bubbles still on the nail.....and you should be able to get different sized bubble affects with using the little hand held whisk.

I just do my own nails and don't have plans to do others, but my daughter lets me practice on her of course. I only started doing my own because it cost so much to get the set you want, and typical nail shops don't have creative artists. I was tired of being told I was picky. I can be as picky as I want for $120 or more! It's been almost 3 years since I've been doing my own and I get many compliments, but I'm the only one who knows how difficult any particular set was. Your video is comforting to know I'm not alone with failures and struggles in this personal nail game.

Yea! I love doing nails on myself. It’s a bit harder to do on other people, I’ve done my friends nails. But it’s making me want to go to school to become licensed because I want to perfect the skill & be able to get paid legally lol. Nails is such a lucrative business so it’d be like why not. I like it enough. And I have other degrees & tools under my belt to fall back on.

Great video thanks for showing! I noticed that you were using your lid to mix your gels, instead you could try it on the form papers. When you use forms keep the backing paper that you usually throw away, it's wax paper so great for mixing colours. Also, when l buy acrylic powders and they come with the little white lids inside them so that they don't spill in transit, l keep them too as a mixing palette. I try to not waste anything even if l buy gel bottles and they come with plastic bags l keep them to put my kitchen roll that has been used to wipe my acrylic brush on.
