THIS is really Next level. I swear vim is a black hole of possibilities

I am pretty proficient, but I got two new tips I will definitely be using out of your video. In particular, I did not know about the black hole register, that is really useful, thanks!

ℹ ℹ Second suggestion : @ 00:05:05 from this exact position, in the variable "print_range", I would rather do : ciw0 (instead of your b"_dwp ) which is one key shorter, and does neither need to use b to go to the word beginning ( using "ciw" = change inner word), neither to use the _black hole register_ (underscore). As a matter of fact, if you know _Vim_ registers, you know that last yank is stored in 0 (zero) register, that you can insert in insert mode with . What is your comment on that? (Equally, even if you prefer to use b to go to word-beginning, you can still use cw0 which is shorter than "_dwp ).

Nice video, thanks for sharing classics useful _Vim_ tips. Regarding your first _sort_ example @ 00:02:33 , there is a shorter+quicker way to achieve it: From your line #16 enter ":,+10sort" in order to sort the current line plus following 10 lines. It is just using _range_ argument for _sort_ command, which can be a relative range as I used. Oh! and by the way, these are actually firstly _VIM_ tips, not _Neovim_ tips, I don't understand why mentioning specifically _NeoVim_ in your title, and not _Vim_ , at least you could reach a broader audience. Peace & Prosper. ❤🖖😉

For the algorithms. Neovim is more popular (at least on my feed) than vim
@philpeko179616 күн бұрын
@@lian1238 Yeah, it is obvious that _Neovim_ in the new _Vim_ , I get it. By the way I enjoy them both. Anyway, not explaining that these are _Vim_ tips is misleading, as if _Vim_ couldn't achieve them. 😀Poor old _Vim_ , R.I.P. Bram. It used to be _Vim_ vs _Emacs_ war, modern war is _Vim_ vs _Neovim_ ! Just 🤡kidding. And do you agree that _relative range sorting_ is shorter/quicker?
@lian123816 күн бұрын
@@philpeko1796I didnt know about sort command until now. And still i don’t think i will remember it when i do need it. Anywho, to me, vim is more of a lifestyle than a specific program (vim plugin in every ide i use, nvim when i can, vim when i cannot nvim, vim mode in browser editors like on leetcode, etc) I agree he should’ve said vim and neovim but maybe neovim was the only thing he used and didn’t know these are native vim?

Yeah guys, I say "Neovim" tips because it is basically a new Vim. In terms of keys and commands they are basically the same, so these tips will work on vim too. Btw thanks for sharing a relative lines tip. It is much better than visual mode
