Great live show Steve. Cheers. The last cocktail on the cards for Saturday eve, will also try the 3rd cocktail as love both of those Planteray rums. Really like the cut n dry. Even my old man likes it and he hates all spirits. His 1st words on trying was chocolate bounty. Did him a rum espresso martini too with the Panama and mr black rum liqueur and he loved that. As that chartreuse is really expensive any suggested alternatives?

The question about Chartreuse always comes up. In short, No, there’s no alternatives to it. It is what it is. And 100% well worth buying a bottle. However, to break it down, many know it as a Herbal Liqueur, but the broader category is Amaro. Now of course there are many versions of Herbal Liqueurs. Jagermeister for example is one. (Yes it’s an Amaro). Campari is one. Benedictine. Sambuca. Drambuie. Heck even Licor 43. The problem is, no 2 are the same, simply because of the base spirit, then all the herbs and spices used. You would not swap Campari or Jager for Chartreuse. Similarly you wouldn’t use Chartreuse in place of your Licor 43 if you wanted to create similar tasting Cocktail. The upshot is. Yes of course you can swap. BUT, no 2 Amaro’s taste the same.

Firstly, thank you for helping me spend far too much with Master of Malt😂. Just had delivered the Koko Kanu on the back of this video. So will be trying that out. BUT PLEASE you have to try Two Drifters overproof pineapple rum from Devon. In my humble opimion it is better than Fancy Stiggins Cheers

Ha, Tried that Two Drifters many years ago. Think there's ever a few videos and a Live Stream about it on my channel. Honestly though, I wasn't that impressed. Not a patch on Stiggins - but reality is you can't compare. Two Drifters is heavily sweetened plus has Salted Caramel added, plus obvs 60%. Stiggins is made with real Pineapple. It's a bit like comparing a Dairy Milk and a Crème Egg. Both are chocolate...but very different. 😉

@ thanks, thats whats great about what you have got me into. I have learnt that all our palates are different. I love a Jungle bird for the Campari addition. None of my friends like that bitter note. Cheers
