The Jim Greens can be resoled, which is almost unheard of with barefoot shoes. This means they’ll last way longer than others. Repairable shoes are more sustainable.

I've been living in and loving my Wildling Tanuki Yoru shoes for over 3 years now. My friend jumped in on my purchase and agrees they have absolutely changed her life. They are comfortable, easy to change the THIN insole so we can go no socks, flexible, durable, great customer service, great styles. I bought a pair for going out dancing, for fun outings, and my daily driver. Cannot recommend the company or shoes enough.

Prior to going fully into barefoot shoes I was almost exclusively into heritage leather footwear, so Jim Green's recent offerings with their barefoot sole are exactly what I'd been looking for! You can custom order any of their boots with the barefoot last, but they're coming out with a standard barefoot chelsea boot as a high quality, resolable alternative to Blundstones or the Lems chelseas you showed off. Always a fan of the barefoot shoe content!

My two absolute favorites are Shamma elite warriors, I’ll wear these as soon as I’m able in the spring right through until it’s to cold in the fall. I wear these from hiking, to kayaking or bumming around town. I live in NW Montana so they get put through the paces. Winter I’ll wear Magical Shoes Alaskan boots, they are very comfortable also and with a wool insole and some light wool socks my feet stay pretty warm even in single digit temps . My hikers which have served me well for 2 years now through 4 season hikes are Xero xcursion fusions. They are waterproof and thus far the soles have worn like iron although tend to be a little slippery on icy ground. One last brand that is in a category by itself is Nefes shoes, they are all leather with the copper grounding plug. I have two pairs of their loafers, very, very comfortable shoes .

When I don't feel like wearing a sneaker, I wear moccasin style boat shoes, camp shoes, bluchers, boots, and slippers. Some of those may not have a wide your box or no heel drop but the leather can stretch out to confirm to my feet and are comfortable.

I bought a pair of Flux trainers last month for my first pair of barefoot shoes. I definitely felt the muscles in my feet being sore the next day, but I am wearing them multiple times a week, especially on days I have physical therapy on my right knee. I did my first session in a cushy pair of runners and the stability exercises had my ankles wobbling everywhere. 1 month shy of 56 my balance in 1-legged holds was horrendous. I switched to the Flux trainers and I felt way more grounded and stable, not perfect but better. My new Flux waterproof runners arrived yesterday and I wore them all day to teach in. They felt amazing. On a side note, I have chronic numbness in my feet from all of my lumbar vertebrae having bulging discs. I don’t know if it’s coincidence or not, but my feet, a month in of wearing the trainers, don’t feel as numb. I’m not sure where this barefoot journey will go from here, but I’m here to see where it goes. Perhaps, I’ll even expand to other brands like those in this video. All the best!

Hey buddy, thanks so much for the Barefoot videos. They became a great source of info when I first started out. We get all the weathers in the UK. During the summer, I pretty much live in the Wildling Tanuki's with the felt insole, and during the Autumn ('Fall' for you people!), it's either the Wildling Chestnuts, or the Vivo Magnas. I'm probably going to grab a pair of Lems Boulders tho, because so many people frickin' keep talking about them.

I’m not joking , this actually happened.I was working at a clothing store in Santa Barbara and John Maher and Jessica Simpson came in to shop. The owner came over and said go talk to him while I help Jessica. I didn’t know what to say,so I asked if he wrote Your Body is a Wonderland, he said yes, and I was like, that’s a pretty good song! 😂 I hate that song , but I didn’t know any of his other music. My my brother told me later that John Mayer is his favorite musician. Live and Learn!

I have 2 Earthing Harmony shoes that look just like your grounding shoe. I have the leather-slip ons with copper rivet in the bottom, and the barefoot chukkas with copper rivet. I wore the sole off very quickly-in one season with the chukkas. And my hair began to stand up on end in my apartment…I kid you not. Like I was electrically charged? Also, the company advised that I don’t get them wet. So, I quit wearing them in the house due to static electricity buildup, and avoided rain showers as best I could. I am ordering them again this year because my hips felt so loose as I walked in them, and I seemed to stay well when I felt rundown-like my immune system turned on. I wore them with no socks, because the leather is supposed to regulate the heat, but my feet got dangerously cold one day, so Idk… They are super comfortable and so good looking!

Hey Chase! I like your new energy of the last few videos, you seem to be finding your place in life. All my shoes are barefoot, mostly groundies because here in europe it is difficult to find durable alternatives. My two current struggles are (1) I need a dress shoe because I am some sort of businessman (with tons of business papers) (2) I'd like to find a shoe that performs like my Altras (zero drop and wide toe box but with some cushion) but more casual style, sometimes I have to walk a lot and if the shoe is too thin I might feel it too much. For (1) I guess the best option are the Birchbury for (2) no clue. By the way, I find myself in a similar situation really focused on being healthy and fit, but not Lebron James kinda fit but cool dad that plays soccer fit.

Check out Splay Shoes. They make sneakers and casual shoes, in leather and canvas, but at affordable prices. I wore a pair of their casual leather shoes as my only shoe on a 15-day European trip, and they held up through lots of walking over cobblestone streets and light hiking trails. My 10-year old daughter wears their canvas slip-on shoes, and she's been happy with them. I've been wearing barefoot shoes for ~5 years now, and Splay seems like a great budget option. Also, Birchbury shoes are excellent. I have both of their current models. I was ecstatic to have found a quality barefoot dress shoe, and can attest to their durability.
