Klint Kubiak on Alvin Kamara
I think it will be really fun to work with Alvin… He’s got a great skill set that we can do a lot of things with. So it’s just up to us as coaches at identifying those things and him putting in the work. He’s been in multiple times, up in my office, talking football. Getting some one-on-one time with him to teach the offense. Getting to know him a little bit, he’s a very bright player, I’m just now figuring out how bright he really is. It’ll be fun to load his plate up

Klint Kubiak On Derek Carr
We’re going to start small, get good at something first, and see where it goes from there. You’ve got to get there for sure. It’s a process for sure. You have to have that identity first so you have something to fall back on. He’s a quarterback I have a lot of respect for. Just in my short time with him he’s been really impressive. Number one is his intellect and what he can handle and what he can carry upstairs. Those guys going out throwing and catching right now, he’s in really good shape, it’s really important to him to be a great player. It’s important to me and our coaches that we give him a successful system he can build some confidence in.

Klint Kubiak On Taysom Hill
Really excited to work with him. Obviously a lot of respect for him as a player, having played against him, having seen him on film. And I think that will be a fun part of the offseason as well, getting to work together with him.

@@user-ug3iu6oc6bhe has literally graded top 10, which is well above average.....nearly elite even. Any time he's had more then one season in an offense ('16, '19, '20, and '21) he graded anywhere from top 10 to top 6. It's not his fault Raiders were a horribly managed team. Same thing with Stafford and Detroit. Stafford was undeniable proof that a bad team will hold a potential SB caliber QB back. It's very unfortunate that Carr decided to have faith in the Raiders to turn it around for so long, bc he basically wasted the majority of his career on a team that was going to lose no matter what he did. Here's hoping the saints can stop wasting that talent and take advantage of his skill set.....which is absurd accuracy and a cannon for an arm. I guess we'll see.

You guys are crazy saying Carr is average, or just “ok “. He can light it up against any QB in the league, he did against Mahomes, Brees, too dawgs. All he needs is a good OL which all good QBs have. And weapons, this year the playcalling will put Carr back on top 10 QB list for the 2024 season.

Tbh, the OL is going to struggle again this year, and bc of that, they're going to be forced to rely on Carr to carry the offense.....again. The good news is that Carr is absolutely capable of doing that.....just not right out of the gate in a new system. Once he got used to the system tho, he balled TF out. For a QB to be consistent, they need consistency around them. The best QB's in the NFL have consistent coaching way more often then not. Carr hasn't had that, all bc the Raiders defense was the worst in the NFL from '13-'22. Let's hope Kubiak is the answer.

Carr was never the problem.....the run game was. Saints had a top 10 pass game and a top 10 scoring offense last season despite having a bottom 3 run game (and dead last if you remove QB runs). If Saints had Even a mediocre run game last season, they would have had a top 3 offense. It's a shame Carrs prime years keep being wasted on bad teams. Hopefully Kubiak finally fixes that.

Don't wanna sound like a Hater & really Hate to be a Nay-sayer ('cause if we all learned something, in 2009, there can be great power, when u just Believe!) But, aside from wanting to see Carr succeed, i want to be realistic & call things as i see them... Two things made Drew Brees an exceptional player: 1) His ability to make quick decisions, under fire. And 2) Drew's Leadership skills, in getting his teammates to match his work-ethic (& buy-in to his & Payton's locker room culture/ formula required for success). In 2009, Brees was only sacked something like 6 times, all season. Granted, that was an incredibly good/great O-Line, but seeing as how Brees, year-in, year-out, consistently avoided being sacked (even, during the latter half of his career, when he clearly wasn't as mobile, and his age was beginning to show). It could be argued that, personnel & career-wise, the Saints O-Line didn't really have a whole lot of longevity (with numerous players manning the center position, and only Zach Strief seeing a career that lasted nearly as long over the duration of Brees's time, with the Saints). But, despite the rather continuous turnover, in Saints offensive linemen, Brees, throughout his time, in New Orleans, continually avoided being sacked (albeit, his incredible 2009 statline, for not being sacked, was one of the most outstanding, in NFL history, and a number he never duplicated). That all leads me to conclude that much of the Saints O-Line's "success" probably had more to do with Drew's ability to make quick decisions & get rid of the ball. (And if the Saints O-Line, during that span, really was as good as their reputation, then why haven't there been more seasons where the Saints ranked anywhere near the top of the League, when it came to running the ball? Granted, the Saints offense was often rather excessively pass-happy, during the Payton/Brees years, and while we did win a lot of games, and usually made the playoffs, but were never able to repeat, as Super Bowl Champions (despite having some extremely talented running backs, including Deuce McCallister, Pierre Thomas, Mike Bell, Reggie Bush, Chris Ivory, Mark Ingram, Darren Sproles, CJ Spiller Adrian Peterson, Alvin Kamara, Latavius Murray, Jamaal Williams, and others). As Bobby Hebert would often say, on his "Point After" broadcasts: "Less of Drew is more!" If the Saints offense had an achilles heel, during the Payton/Brees/Carmichael era, it was that they seldom stuck to a more balanced attack (typically airing it out 40-50 (or more) passes per game, vs a running attack that usually amounted to less than 20 running plays, often making what should have been the NFL's most lethal offense all-too-predictable). It would be interesting to look at the Saints avg time of possession, per game, during that era - (i remember one loss to the Falcons, where Atlanta ran the ball, continuously, controlling the clock (for nearly 45 mins) & keeping Drew off the field. It would also be interesting to interview Saints Defensive players, to ask if they think that the Saints pass-happy game style has led to free agent defensive players not wanting to sign with the Saints, knowing they'd have to spend a lot more time on the field, due to so many Saints games ending up being high scoring shootouts (with the Saints throwing the ball, constantly, not sustaining drives, and the opposing team having to, likewise, air the ball out, to keep up, scorewise). Hoping for the Best, in 2024 & Beyond (for both the Saints & Derick Carr - As he goes, so do we, but thankfully, it takes a lot more than - player, to make a team!) 2024 will be very telling for both Dennis Allen & for Carr. Hopefully, Kubiak & the new scheme, will be better tailored to Carr's skill set & playing style. (And hopefully, Kubiak & the Saints-O will be more disciplined about keeping things balanced, by relying more on the Saints running the ball! Loomis & the front office should find a way to suggest that Carr take a pay cut, for the benefit of the team, so that they can sign some more free agent veterans, who can help us het back to the Super Bowl!

I am not an NFL guy,, not even a Saints fan, it’s college for me. But I did catch the last few Saints games on TV. Carer was not the problem. The first rule of football, on every level from youth to pro is control scrimmage, stop the run on d and establish the run on offense. Saints did neither. On the prime game I saw Carr go head to head with Stafford and he was impressive despite seeing the receivers making the wrong reads over and over again. I also watched the Tampa game and it was clear Carr was superior to Mayfield. Saints fans need to stop it, because if they lose Carr who is solid, they will not have anyone his caliber to replace him. There’s only 8-10 quarterbacks on the planet better than him. Nearly 4K yards over 20 tds with a 3-1 TD to interception ratio. And that was getting knocked down every series and the x y and x z’s making the wrong reads. Couldn’t believe how many times during those games there were multiple receivers on the same level in the same quarter of the field.

I think Carr isn’t the Saint answer to the QB position. Them keeping on bringing in Raiders people isn’t going to help him. Nothing against him. I just don’t see him doing better. Don’t think he will make it all year with him being a pocket QB and the OLine we have right now.

You've never seen Rattler throw a pass in the NFL. Please try to remember that when you say dumb things like this.
