great idea for this. my account is new and have not much wild cards. so starting with zero rare decks help a lot. next step if possible is to see your upgrade maybe 4 to 8 rares only of deck 1 and 5 :D. subbed dude.

I often think about the phrase "restriction breeds creativity" when I'm building decks. Even if I don't personally need to worry about the cost of most decks in standard, I have fun picking a card or theme and refuse to use more than X rares, or try and mimic a meta deck without using full playsets. The latter in particular really gets you thinking about how to get the most out of your library. But, that's more of a builder thing than a player thing, which isn't always what I want to focus on.

I've been having a great time with the Blue Tempo. I'm sure I'll add in rares I own, but its been really nice against all the mono red aggro and white +1+1 decks so far. And the potential for cards like Unsummon and Counterspell, or the new Flash Faerie means this skeleton has plenty of room to bulk up with some end game bombs to close out

Ah good to hear buddy…..yeah I’m thinking Unsummon may be a better 1 slot as I think it may be able to bounce our creatures too but not sure I’d have to look the card up again.

i've been playing the orzhov vampires and have been really struggling with it, any mulligan advice and update recommendations? i have quite a few wildcards banked up and some black/white mythic staples, not afraid to chuck some rares in there

So first upgrade i alwasy suggest buddy is the lands cos that will make any budget deck way more consisitent. So add as many of the dual coloured rare lands you have in place of the budget ones here. As for the creatures there's alot of options, my favs being Preacher f the Schism, Nullpriest of Oblivion and Sanguine Evangelist. I'd replace those top end creatures we have for those. It probably needs a tad more removal so by adding Get Lost it give you more early interaction and of course thata rare upgrade too. Early creature and a bit of removal is ideal in your opening hand. Starting with just s ay a three drop and up is too slow with standard atm. Hope that helps.

Great video, I really thought your ideas sounded like a lot of fun. I've been playing Arena off and on for a few years but never put a deck together in it because I generally play on my phone. I've had a lot of success with most of the starter decks and thought I'd take the plunge with the poison deck. I ran it a few times against the bot to make sure I understand how to make it work and then jumped in to Standard play. It did NOT do well. I won one of 8. It can't keep up with the creature creation or removal. I already upgraded the lands, but I'm not sure the two creatures you mentioned will be enough. Sorry about the long response. It seemed like fun but I'm not sure I can keep going with such a high loss rate. Hopefully I've got enough wildcards for something else.

Thanks buddy. Sorry it hasn’t worked for you that one as it has for others. Just luck of the draw sometimes. Try adding some creature protection cards as this can help with all the removal in standard a bit. Also some removal yourself may help if the creatures death touch is not enough.

What would you upgrade for the vampire deck?

You have some great cratures that can come in, Vampire Gourmand can be upgraded for either of Nullpriest of Oblivion, Vadmir New Blood or Vraan. Rithless Lawbringer can be upgraded for Preacher of the Schism and some good removalk like Get Lost as well. That's a few to get started with. Also Bloodletter of Ac;lazotz, and the Bloodthirsty Conqueror are great too!

In the burn deck what would you swap out for slagstorm? I got two copies in a draft. Seems like either lightning strike, viashino pyromancer or lavarunner?

I’d try the Lavarunner tbh first , strike and Viashi do damage.

There wasn’t much of a choice in Vampires for the common and uncommon creatures so I went with was best. Adding some form of token generator may be good.

So Im kinda tempted to build one of these and I have an option to build deck two it's on the lower end of wildcards id need to spend. Would you say it's work spending the wildcards to try one of these decks out or should I keep trying to get packs ? I just started playing recently so I don't have a huge collection yet.

I never like spending peoples wildcards but all these decks will get you some wins for sure up to a certainl level on ranked. A few upgrades here and there as you build your collection will enhance the decks too. Vamps ahs some great upgrade rare options but my fav is probably trhe Boros Burn for consistency form what i've played :)

Just came back to Arena and your video helped me so much! I'm having a blast with Blue Tempo, any tips for cards I could put to upgrade it? And maybe, what I could take out of it? Although it does seems like it runs amazingly well the way it is, still, just wondering. Anyways, thank you!! :)

Ah great to hear buddy! ....As for upgrades like you say it doesn't need much. You could play Haughty Djinn as that's a great card and will work well swapping for the Exclusion Mage. Also the rare Three Steps Ahead would be a good upgrade as well.

The version I showed is but there’s an uncommon version too on mtga if you look at the different versions.

it says the deck is alchemy format... what cards are trigerring this?

Sometimes when importing decks it changes it to alchemy for some reason. Hopefully just changing deck type will sort this for you.

The Boros does include rares so it's more zero rare at all

No rares in it just a rare version of an uncommon card in my collection for the art, have a search again on arena for it you’ll see.

liked the idea of the second deck, but i can't even win one duel all other decks are faster, hit harder and you rely strongly on drawing tremors sad

It’s defo an all or nothing deck, I tend to mull down in hope of having tremors in hand. You certainly have to be aggressive in the mulls. But like any deck it can just get beat by a stronger one and standard is very fast atm unfortunately.
