I know that most people hated Renaissance but I applauded the boys for attempting to try a new direction because being pigeonholed into nothing but disco had to feel extremely limited. The last time I played this song in a club setting, I looked down on the floor to see that Glenn Hughes had just walked in so I brought him into the booth and we hung out until the bar closed. The remainder of the night was with a few of the other guys in an all night diner, acting the fool.
From the vault. I tried to clean the sound up as much as I could.
I always loved this song for the melancholy, but really lush strings. They were so haunting and amplified the angst in Ray's vocals. Also who knew that he could hold those notes like that :)
