Great Tips! The biggest thing to keep in mind is that the creative process isn't linear. When you incorporate these tactics it makes the process much easier. I am all for a deep mind-map but one other tip is to try writing out a narrative or story about/for the thing you are making. This produces surprising results that add more depth to the end product. Either way the creative process should start with writing down your thoughts.

You've managed to make a video that is not only good advice for graphic design but branding and general creative purposes! I love the 100 thumbnails idea, I could see that being useful for anything, not just doodling. You could put 100 list items and spit out article ideas or recipe ideas or photography ideas, anything!

The second one is so time and creative consuming, if your "payment" not worth the do, don't do it. Rather approach the first and third method. But i usually combining one and two, with less "visual board" by far i only do 5-10 from the second method, from there just combine/delete each other sketch/ideas with the first method in mind.
