Great video Zoe. The scary bit in jaws for me is the scene where Richard Dreyfuss finds Ben Gardner's head in the hull. When I was younger I was scared of An American werewolf in London when the two American backpackers get attacked by the werewolf and also the death of Tina in the original A Nightmare on elm street. I love the scene from Exorcist 3 and also in the film the little old lady crawling on the ceiling. Keep up the good work

Those are all amazing choices Simon! Tina in ANOES was really terrifying for me too... I love that franchise and that really did scare the daylight out of me! Thanks for reminding me of some of the scary scenes. I'll do some more at some point!

Great video! New to the channel, but good stuff. One of the scariest scenes from a movie to me (especially as a kid) was the scene in Salem's Lot when the kid vampire floats up to the window, trying to get his brother to open it and let him in.

Everyone talks about the nurse/hallway scene in Exorcist lll - but the part I found most chilling in that movie is the opening confessional scene.

Finally somebody who shows some love for The Final Prayer. Severely underrated movie. The Exorcist III introduced me to the genius acting of Brad Dourif, therefor it will always be closely treasured by me.

That's because Stieven, only the wonderful people like us appreciate films like The Borderlands (I call it that as I saw it when it had that title!). It is a very special dilm!

Some of the horror movie moments that terrified me most were the scene near the end of Ju On were Kyako's crawling down the stairs, the ending of the original 70s version of Black Christmas, & the ending of Lake Mungo. But the one that still terrifies me more then anything is a scene towards the end of the made for TV adaptation of Susan Hill's The Woman In Black from the 1980s that has been the stuff of my nightmares since I first saw the movie when I was around 12 years old. Wont spoil the scene for those who haven't seen the movie, but those who have seen it will know exactly what moment I'm talking about.

Oh, that scene in Lake Mungo... I think it was so brilliant because it was (in my opinion) completely unexpected.

Great scary bits! I wasn't a fan of Lake Mungo but feel I need to give it another go very soon!

@@zobowithashotgun -That's understandable, some movies take a couple of viewings before you can fully appreciate them. Personally I love Lake Mungo, but then I've always found the more quietly unnerving horror movies to be the ones that scare me most. They wind up sticking in my mind long after the movie's over & get under my skin.

I'm going to try and guess your Exorcist lll scene - the old lady crawling on the ceiling ? Aww I missed it ! Jeffrey Dahmer was utterly obsessed with that film if that means anything. When Hooper loses sight of the shark and suddenly it comes smashing into the cage behind him. That scene gave me a heart attack. I think that movie tapped into a deep repressed fear so many of us have of being absolutely ripped apart and shredded by an enormous shark. One movie scene - damn there's just too many - was when the corpse of the old lady in room 217 of the Overlook Hotel's eyes popped open. Even though I knew it was going to happen. In nightmares sometimes you know exactly what's coming but it's still just as terrifying when it does. Same thing with that movie. And no spoilers here - but the very last frame of Paranormal Activity had me fully whimpering. To its great credit while scenes of sheer screaming terror are fairly rare in Blair Witch Project nearly every minute of that film made me incredibly tense and frightened with no let up. It was the slow accumulation of details and how relentless it was made that movie a huge one for me. They were always frightened and desperate and exhausted and the film passed that right on to me.

I never had a moment like what you described in the end, even though I look for it hahaha Grave Encounters is a movie with some good jump scare scenes, imho. I think that these scenes are very well connected to what we are and how we see the world. If you take Michael Myers, for instance, that is a truly scary dude. Don't stop for anything and has no intention other than kill. One of my favorite movies on this subject is The Strangers. Group of guys that has only one purpose on their actions, make you terrified in the last few hours of your life.

Having a religious upbringing the one scene from the Exorcist was traumatising for the longest time. My sister and brother in law took me to see the Brood when I was a kid, it scared the Jesus out of me. I have watch them all again and cannot figure out what the hell was scary about them. If you want rather disturbing watch Inbred, it will make you avoid English villages.
