Now imagine if you can tap into said "one" consciousness, or "pure" consciousness. Not many believe me, but i was up 3 days straight, molly, coke then acid; on a sunday, no less. That day, something cracked. I remember me and my two friends at the time walked through downtown Chicago, and I remember every light, every body, every door, just allowed me to enter. I can never forget how surreal the world was. Beyond an existential realization, or "understanding" of the notion that this life we live may be un-real, i walked through a world that was pure manifestation, to the most literal way. Since then, i lost my mind for a while, couldn't grapple my body, my person, my identities. I still bring up stories from the past, with certain friends, and they'd tell me, definitively that they weren't there, or it didn't happen. Like i was another person, though i look the same, i didn't feel the same. Like I'm in another version of myself. But I've gotten past that stage. I realize no matter who may have been, i can always choose who i will be. I stopped doing acid, or hallucinogens. But lately, in my sobriety, i find myself, sometimes, able to tap back into the pure manifestation. If i can let go of the strong beliefs of reality, like i had that day, and just let the world be, sometimes it taps back into this flow. What i call the perfect flow. Like i found a groove in the machine of life and am able to flow through. It's, of course, nowhere near as warped as that one time. But i still feel that pure consciousness sometimes.

And ofc I wanna believe the universe is just its own version of a neural network. To what end and for what purpose? That is beyond imaginable I feel. I dont imagine some sorta humanoid creature with the universe as its brain tho. Nor any kinda creature for that matter. Nor plantlife. Nor any organism we currently kno of. Whatever the reason for this universe spannin neural network and what it provides or anything like that wud be seemingly unknowable to us as the mere cells (not even that rly). We are but the atoms within the building blocks of the cells (with our own quarks (and quirks :p) within us); and our whole solar system itself but like a single part, such as the mitochondria (the powerhouse), of the cell. We are so far removed from being able to understand for what purpose the universe exists, much farther removed from understanding such than our cells within us are removed from being able to understand why their universe exists and what purpose it exists for.

I personally don't believe the universe is actually real. The speed of light is an asymptotic barrier that prevents us from ever reaching anything beyond our local system. It's like a video game where you try to fly your jet off the side of the map, and the game rules prevent you from ever going anywhere that hasn't actually been committed to system memory.

I don't quite understand why people think the theory is crazy. From what I can understand watching this video the scientist proposed that all quantum, atomic and macro-atomic constructions have fundamentally a similar shape because it's the most stable. He didn't say the universe is actually a brain, or that the universe is a conscious entity. Like he mentioned, proving this theory wrong would be difficult so take it with a pinch of salt, but he never said quantum structures, atoms, molecules, humans, animals an the universe are part of the same organismo, just that their structures are stable because of evolution.

That last theory is really cool and it's definitely been touched on a bunch of times in the past by philosophers and the like, just not to such an amazing scientific extent. i was in year 2 (1990ish) at an Australian public school when my teacher decided that me writing with my left hand wasn't worth messing up her seating plan , couldnt have me bumping elbows with the kid next to me. so i was forced to write with my right hand. I remember getting scissors cutting home work because i struggled cutting around the patterns. For years i felt like i was stupid for having this extra homework until i was and adult and talking to my mum about school and she explained how the teacher forced me to write/cut with my right hand. I wasn't dumb, i was just being forced to do something that was un-natural to me. Years of shame and embarrassment all over a seating plan. cheers teach. I'm almost 40 now, i still write with my right and its still messy AF.

Memories are as real as you believe them to be. My brother was bleeding out & close to dying in March, 2019 due to an injury he caused himself due to psychosis caused by methamphetamine usage. I had to pin him down, closing his wounds to prevent him from bleeding out, while he was struggling & beating the living shit out of me trying to get away from me because he thought I was trying to kill him, even though I actually saved his life. What was happening in his brain was reality to him, same as the reality we experience. Our brains are only conveying a specific version of reality to us that has been developed over billions of years of evolution to best help us survive on our planet, but there is much that our senses aren't able to pick up. This is why the scientific method is so important to follow, as it eliminates the human biases that we are all prone to following, & basing our understanding of reality on logic.

regarding the phantom time thing, as an architecture student I learned a tiny bit about building typologies. We get these weird preconceptions about history, often forgetting there are huge overlaps in things we think are so far apart from each other. An example is how there was a 22 yr period where the fax machine and samurai existed at the same time. This can be applied to buildings too, many civilizations have copied roman design prinicples (they copied from the greeks and the greeks copied etc etc.)

The horse and carriage was still the primary mode of transportation well after the existence of the airplane. I believe the automobile didn't become number one until the Model T had been around for a few years. This makes World War I pretty interesting...you had lancers on horseback while at the same time the Red Baron was flying through the air in an airplane. Heck, when the Germans invaded Poland at the onset of WWII over 20 years later, the Polish army still had cavalry on horseback.

Infantry that gets around on horseback but fights like normal infantry in their area of deployment... Sort of like what's done nowadays with motorized infantry.... The formation in question uses traditional cavalry weapons for parade purposes.... that's where those out of context photos come from.... Example of way more recent era... A lot of US special forces rode horses in the mountains of Afghanistan. One would hardly call those troops cavalry.

I had a weird experience once with seeing 2 moons. I was riding my bike to work, the sun was out and so was the full moon. As I was riding I saw that there were two moons. It messed with me so much that I messed up and had to lay my bike down. I stood there looking at 2 moons for a good 10 minutes trying to figure out if there was something wrong with my eyes or if I was actually seeing 2 moons. I looked down for a minute, closed my eyes very hard, looked back up and there was just 1 again. No one else seemed to notice or even care. I just carried on with my day and chalked it up to another thing that I just can’t explain. A couple days later when hanging out with some friends I mentioned it and one of the said that they had seen the exact same thing that I had a couple days ago. Glitch in the matrix?

Not a big deal all the time or especially if you're having a nightmare but there have been times where I feel like I've developed legitimate friendships and relationships with people there having been stuck there for an extended time and then I wake up and you have to stop for a second and sort of come to terms with "Wait, they were all dreams? Holy crap I need a minute". I've legit refused to go back to sleep sometimes because I'll be genuinely depressed immediately after waking up just sort of shocked that I was basically just ripped out of a different life back into another one.

Last Thursdayism reminds me of a slightly more extreme version of the same idea that I used to go around asking people about as a kid. It really was the exact same idea but instead of last Thursday I used "one second ago." "What if all of your memories and everything from the past was just fabricated and implanted in your head, and your existence actually started one second ago?" I always used to come up with weird ideas like that. When my friend and I were 17 we got really high, like too high, and started walking to town to hang out with our friends, and during the walk I told my friend "When you walk you're not actually moving. You stay in the exact same spot in space, and the entire planet is rotating beneath you to simulate movement." I guess it made him terribly disoriented because he continued walking, silently, for about 6 or 8 steps, stopped, bent forward and started dry heaving. It was one of the funniest things I had ever seen. Thanks for reminding me what a weird kid I was lol.

My mother had a cousin whose ENTIRE family died. 3 generations of people within a month. I know they aren't the only ones like that. Not to mention all the people that lost jobs, homes, vehicles AND all the people that are barely hanging on and are about to lose everything. You should try a little compassion or empathy every once in a while. It only hurts if/when you realize just how uncompassionate you've been to other people.
