Thanks so much--so glad you like the watercolor effects! SO MUCH fun!! As for the ribbon--it was that I just didn't quite cut far enough in--and you are right, not all ribbon will do that (but I did know that that one would...I was just struggling! LOL!!

Really pretty. Love it. Never tried painting with watercolors. Looks fun. But can you use acrylic paints.

Hi Debbie! You sure can use acrylic paint--though I don't believe you'll get the same results. Because of the make up of acrylic paint, they likely won't react to the salt or the alcohol. You can create a gradient, and you can make backgrounds, but the water in water coloring is what helps facilitate all those effects! Hope you'll give them a try sometime! I have completely fallen in love with watercoloring!

What are the measurements for all the pieces and long base?

Do you have to brush the water on, or can you use a spritzer to wet the paper?

You absolutely can spritz it! Brushing will give you a bit better coverage as you can direct the water more precisely. Either will get the job done, though!
