I’ve actually bought one of the those knock off Penny boards a while back and it’s been holding up pretty well. The quality control isn’t great, but after switching out the bearings it feels kinda similar to my friend’s real Penny

I submit as an alternative, the humble Z-Flex 29" cruiser. Classic deck shape and construction, great trucks, fantastic wheels, and park skateable if you're brave enough.

I used to recommend the retrospec 27 inch plastic board however i cant anymore. Dont get me wrong im not gonna hate on penny boards because they're incredibly nice boards since they're lightweight and fun crusiers but the flex on those boards are board line terrifying you have to stand on the bolts or its gonna flex and you'll slip off which going down a hill isnt something you want. So glad for this video tho! I've been looking for something to replace it for some fun rides around town

Cal 7 has a 22" Rocket Fishtail Cruiser that looks interesting. Similar to the Magneto quality and price wise, but with a kinda cool oldschool shape. I couldn't really find any reviews or info on it but there are a couple on Ebay right now at half price so I ordered one to build into a Micro Surfskate with 90mm wheels.

This board is really flying under the radar and it can probably be cut down to 20" for folks that need to fit one in a backpack it is also wider than a penny board making it easy to balance im thing of putting long board trucks on mine to make it easier to balance on like the egg board

I know Sector 9 also makes some pretty decent cruisers. They offer a lot of different shapes and sizes. Plus the graphic are dope

Not exactly cheap but definitely portable like the egg board is the elos. I have a soft spot for the handles and hooks

I am a penny board (size) rider. I like small boards. I travel a lot and I need a extremely small board. I appreciate this insight. I bought the Arbor foundation (27 in the smallest they offer, I wanted the pilsner but 29 inches or w.e is far too big for me. even the foundation might be too big.) because of you. I am considering the lander La, and I like lad yacht but their lack of eco friendliness and no penny board sized offerings has kept me away. Why do you think there aren't more people offering 22inch boards? Or is that a video you might make? imo 22-23 is the perfect size for what I do.

My mini cruiser is a UK brand. Lush fuel boat. It's a skinny mini surf style cruiser. Thinking of throwing some carver c5s on it.

Oxelo yamba. It’s basically a penny rip off but a good quality.(I have one and it’s fun plus it’s a perfect skate for go to the nearest shop or just cruising a little)

Globe Blazer 26 inch and Powel Peralta Micro Mini Ripper or Sector 9 Zag Bambino are better than all those unless your going all weather durability where the Penny shines

Penny boards are meant for children that plan on leaving their board outside,...I skated a globe insider cruiser for a few years, was a great board that has evolved into the blazer line of decks, which maybe even better?

Im sorry but. When you say penny boards are affordable i just start questioning life. 99-$130 isn’t affordable for a cruiser no matter how much money you have. I’ve used penny boards and they are a good product but so overpriced. I have a retrospec quip cruiser which is the exact same as a penny board but $100 less. Had it for a year and it’s got 0 flaws in comparison to penny.

I bought the tiny one when I was like 12 now I’m 22 and much bigger so I kinda want a small deck to use the penny trucks on cause the deck is too flexy haha, eggboard looks sweet, but can’t find just the deck and penny trucks might be too small
