You made a great point that I didn't think about, though, regarding the hype vs reality of that bag. Your 3rd bag has always seemed to me to be one of the most uncomfortable bags to carry and use. It's pretty but doesn't seem practical at all. Carol Summer had your 4th bag and talked about how she returned it because she saw that using the crossbody strap was going to cause damage to the bag! I love your 5th bag, too. I have a terrible dupe of it but I think I'd enjoy the real thing. Well, you have some fantastic choices! Thanks again for the invitation. :)

I tried the lady dior on in store. Super heavy empty. The puzzle bag- I have 2 both sizes- you can get online certain sites have great discounts. I use them a ton, get quite a few complements on them. Glad I bought new and on sale

Jill Maurer I like the larger size. I use it all the time. I have it in black. It does hold enough for every day, Wallet keys reading glasses, phone, sun glasses etc without being too heavy. The small one is good if you don’t need too much. I have that in raspberry. Love them both but use the larger size more.

I totally disagree with you on the capucine Jill only because I have that bag LOL. Kidding aside, it depends on the user of course and the size, just go for the BB size. Also, to keep the bag in shape, just stuff it with air paper and there is actually a sponge and rubber support for the handle, just ask LV for it :)

I think Dior will be taking the stage soon. Their quality and customer service (so I hear) is sooo much better than LV and Chanel. I agree on the puzzle bag, not a classic but, I think people who have it now will still be carrying it years from now because they simply love it and it's not such a trendy bag. Hope that made sense, lol!

I agree Mandi! I've had a couple of Dior bags that I used to death when my boys were young and then sold. They were wonderful. Mostly I have clothes from Dior but have also worn their shoes and boots. They are a wonderful brand overall. You are making complete sense on you Puzzle description!! xoxo

I think that the Bottega Veneta bags are real luxury. Please consider also Serapian a brand which is based in Milano and very good quality.

Great video! What are the issues you see with the Loewe bag? I have wanted this bag for 2 years now but always seem to purchase another bag first. Just curious... maybe your answer will help me decide once and for all!

Thank you! One of the big issues is access. Some people complain about the size of the opening. It also stands quite a bit off the body because it is so three dimensional. Some people love this and some hate it. It depends on the size you choose and also your body shape and where it hits you when you are wearing it. xoxo

For Kelly and Birkin they are better to get new if you can because the price is so much better. The flip side of that is that it's easier to get exactly what you want if you buy preloved. For the other styles you can definitely get better prices on the preloved market. Hermes is always the oddity and can really be a matter of luck. xoxo

Beckman has “very fine taste?” LOL - She buys and carries fakes. Fakes are hardly fine or tasteful. 🤣😂🤣😂 I don’t buy pre-loved. I don’t want anyone’s hand-me-downs. Ewww....I’ve bought all of my bags new and in person. This includes my Chanel classic flap and both of my Hermès Birkins. I don’t buy Louis Vuitton. It looks cheap.

You've hit a lot of nails right on the head. I've been a handbag person ever since I was a child and in adulthood have always had a substantial collection over the last 4-plus decades. As for Bottega Veneta, it's very underrated, but shouldn't be. I've followed those bags for decades, but now finally have 3 from Fashionphile as the prices have been exceptional lately and another one is coming in this week, but from The Real Real. I've been buying and selling to Fashionphile for well over a decade as I used to regularly go to the original boutique in Beverly Hills back in the day. As for Chanel, there was top quality in the 1980s as far as I'm concerned. I bought my first Chanel bag in Paris back then....very high quality. I kept it for years and then sold it to a private collector. I only sold it due to the size being small and I had moved on to larger bag sizes by then. It was a model that was only available in France back when I bought it. I really should have held on to it. Some years later, over a decade ago, I found a large Chanel tote-style bag with the double Chanel chain and top zipper and could tell that it was from either the 1980s or maybe early 1990s. The quality and styling were superb. Again, that was a Fashionphile purchase. I still have it and will not sell it. It's the only Chanel bag that I have held on to. And as for the constant rising prices of Chanel these days, it's ridiculous. If prices are going to rise, then quality needs to match the prices. As for the Lady Dior bag, I have always liked it, but don't own one. I do agree that that's one to purchase preowned. As for the Louis Vuitton Celine, I am not familiar with that bag although I do own some other Louis Vuitton bags. But, most of my Louis Vuitton bags were bought in either the 1980s or 1990s while on vacation in Paris. However, I did buy a red Passy in Epi in Paris in the 2000s. The bag had just been released to the boutique about a week prior to me arriving. My first Louis Vuitton bag was purchased in Paris in the summer of 1980 and was the Chantilly monogram crossbody. That was back in the days when Louis Vuitton didn't cost a fortune. I held on to that bag for about a decade and then sold it to a coworker who still has it. Louis Vuitton quality was also very high back then. As for the Loewe puzzle, I bought one from Fashionphile and in mint condition. This was in 2019. I haven't used it yet only due to having so many other handbags. I got that bag for less than a third of the retail price probably due to the color as I bought it in a vibrant pink shade. I'm not one who is afraid of vibrant colors as here in L.A. vibrant colors are everywhere. Many times I can get great pre-owned bags at great prices due to not only choosing basic colors. A bag that wasn't mentioned, but is a great bag and the prices are good right now in the pre-owned market is the Fendi Selleria Lei Boston. Both the Boston and Puzzle are very similar, but the Boston has a wider opening thus making it easier to get into and out of. I have a Selleria Lei Boston that is gorgeous and the recent pre-owned price was unbelievable at under $1,000 and the bag was classified as being new on Fashionphile. I remember looking at the same bag at the Fendi boutique in Milan, in the summer of 2017, and it was a fortune there. And last, but not least are Ferragamo bags.Ferragamo bags are really high quality, but not in the "it" bag category. I have bought several brand new, but knowing upfront that on the resale market they wouldn't sell for a lot if I decided to sell them. However, my Ferragamo bags are gorgeous and I still have 3 Fiammas, bought brand new a few years ago, and also 2 small, crossbody Sophias also bought brand new. I sold my two large Sophias only due to not being physically at work these days and not needing such big bags anymore. But, at least my ruelala Ferragamo purchases were made before they were required to start charging sales tax which I think was in 2017. My first Fiamma bag was bought at Ferragamo in Beverly Hills as soon as that bag came out. The other ones were bought brand new, but discounted on ruelala.
