Cheers for the succint and useful vid Sakitech! Quick question, but short background; I'm keeping my S21 Ultra, which I have the S21 S Pen, and preordered the Z Fold 5 with both case + Slim S Pen. I'm aware that only the S Pen Pro works for both. My question is that, though the Slim S Pen works on the foldable screen only, can my standard S21 S Pen work on the outer screen of the ZF5? (Basically, does the outer screen have S Pen layer?). Thank you!

Hey there, no, the outer display on fold 5 does not support s pen. Only inner display.

The S Pen for Fold5 is proprietary, designed to prevent screen scratches. However, your S Pen seems to be a generic one, so it can't be used on the Fold5, right?

I have this same pen and my phone keeps displaying this message "Only use S Pens designed for your Galaxy Fold. Other S Pens will damage the screen. If you're using an S Pen Pro, set it to Z Fold mode before using it on your Fold.". Anyone has any idea how to fix this or will it just not work

@ManuelTorres-yq3re It depends on which S Pen 🖊 we are talking about. The S 🖊 that's used as an accessory along with the Samsung case is a throw-away item (totally useless). If we are talking about the Fold edition S Pen 🖊 ( which I'm currently using for the S Tab) it's a great tool w/ one caveat ( the Pen is too big to fit a phone case silo). I checked everywhere for a Z Fold 5 Pro S Pen from Samsung's own web page to Amazon and nothing. So, just to have a pen for just in case purposes, I went ahead and purchased the S Pen for S Tab series.

@ManuelTorres-yq3re Did you buy for yourself a proper hand-held S Pen 🖊? If not, why torture yourself, and besides, you can do so much more with your Z Fold 5 Pro. Anyways, I carry my S Pen in a separate case in most cases wherever I go with my phone... Come the release of the Z Fold 7 or other expandable screen Samsung phone, I hope to find and buy the compatible S Pen in the future. In the meantime, enjoy your phone.

I got my fold 5 yesterday, upgrade from note 20, fist foldable phone. The plastic seal at the hinge has already failed, and started to squeeze out between the screen and the bezel. Within 24 hours!!! Will be replaced under warranty, but required that I send back to Samsung, and have no phone for 1-2 weeks whilst it gets sorted. Not confidence inspiring for the longevity of this phone 🙄
