Love this! Can you do a video covering how you handle customer service? Returns, missing packages, packages marked as delivered but customer saying they never got it, etc. That's the one thing I'm struggling with. Thankfully I rarely have issues but my shop is still relatively small and I suspect customer service demand will scale with my business.
@WholesaleTed3 жыл бұрын
1) Printful let you have customers send items back and they restock them so yo can resell them. You don't have to offer returns for change of mind but if you do Printful make it easy. 2) Missing packages are so rare, don't worrying about them. In the extremely rare case this happens to you, just refund them. If customers lie: they are the absolute minority, just refund them. If this is what is stopping you from moving forward and scaling, then you are letting very little tiny details and rare incidents stop you from moving forward, whereas if you had pushed on, you could have dealt with this issue when you eventually encountered it. Someone once told me thay worrying about future things thay could go wrong is like suffering twice. Start the business and deal with these things as they come is my motto 🙏

Hi Sarah! Your videos are incredibly insightful for starting an ecommerce business. I was wondering, how would you tackle having a print on demand store but also having your own manufactured products in one seamless store front. For example, how would you fulfill orders on a shopify storefront that are print on demand (as you listed in this video) but also other products like enamel pins or handmade jewelry etc. Would the customer have to pay 2 shipping fees, and receive two separate packages? This question also extends to having multiple PoD services (like printful, and printify), would a single order with multiple items fulfilled by different manufacturers have a higher shipping cost and be split in delivery?
@WholesaleTed3 жыл бұрын
I do both of those things (I use Printful for it's POD & warehouse facilities) & I also use Printify & Printful: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aYTMmJmhltl8q80 Items get sent separately but that's OK, it's no different from how Amazon ships items separately if they're being stored in different fulfillment centers. It's up to you what you wish to charge the customer, whether you'd make less profit & absorb some of the shipping costs yourself, or charge the full price. I absorb the costs because my profit margins on my items are already high, but again, it is up to you. With POD suppliers, if a customer buys 2 items from a single supplier, you'll only pay the initial shipping + a small additional item fee. Versus if you have a customer buy 1 item from 1 POD supplier, and then 1 from another - you'll pay 2 initial shipping costs. Again it's up to you, you can set your shipping rates to reflect this, or absorb the shipping when this occurs. To minimize this occurring, I use as few suppliers as possible.

Please can you tell me if you think it is better if I used a company like Printful, but one based in the UK as that is where I am. What bothers me though is how do I get customers from America too, as that is obviously a bigger market. Or do you think it would be better to create two businesses, one that deals with product and customers from the US and another that deals with the UK and EU? Hey Sarah! How do we optimize SEO product titles and descriptions within a single niche for POD? For example, it's hard to find unique keywords with volume when your shirts are all about dolphins. For ex, the only SEO keyword with traffic would be "Dolphin T-Shirt" and I'd have to use this over and over. I watched your video on SEO in the clubhouse, but I feel working within a single niche means you don't have as much variety with keywords.
@WholesaleTed3 жыл бұрын
It is OK to use keywords again if it would be expected that you would because of the nature of the store. The Google algorithm is smart enough to not penalise that. In those situations it is usually best to focus any link building efforts to the category page and Google naturally tends to rank it regardless. Look at Mugdom for example. They have a lot of "Lawyer Mugs" and so instead of ranking individual mugs for the repeated phrase, the category page for the lawyer mugs is the one that ranks. You will obviously have less opportunities to rank keywords and less keywords to target, since your products don't have good keyword opportunities themselves, but if having more potential SEO traffic is important to you - you may have to choose a different niche with more keyword opportunities if the big category pages don't provide you with enough traffic that you are happy with 🙏

Great video! For three+ months I've been watching these videos and preparing to open my own ship, too! (I even took the dropshipping course - HIGHLY recommend). Sadly, I finally opened my Etsy shop today, after months of preparation, and it was banned within minutes. Devastating, to say the least. Just thought of another one, this is hard to explain but some of my designs will have a colored background but if I have a design with lots of white and I use the clear background, it wont show up on a white tshirt so what do you do when your choosing the 5 colors but one color doesnt work with the clear background. I cant change to the background just for one of the 5 coklors kin the one listing can I? Thank you and I really need help so hope I hear back from you!
