I installed this 33 years ago it is great In walls works great and added sound proofing. In Attic you do get more settling than blown glass insulation - so go thicker than you think, I live in one of the most bug infested areas of US Have never had any bugs in house Fire retardant - it doesn't burn

Thanks for your practical feedback. The thing about insulation is this: most people don't have enough. It should not really matter what type you use so long as you get your house air sealed and insulated to the correct R-value for your region. End of story!

@@homeairleakagetest Yep in 1977 started building Energy Efficient homes. Not that much has changed. Just the cost I guess. The cellulous insulation in my home was the only one I put it in 1992. I got a kick out of it especially in the walls.

Didn't know about it's ability to seal. I need to air seal my attic and wondering now if it would be easier just to replace my insulation. I know it would be more expensive but some of the existing insulation needs cleaned out anyway from mice.

You still have to air seal. Cellulose seals better than other insulation products such as fiberglass. I know because I do blower door tests all the time on houses that have cellulose and results are typically better.

Cant stand cellulose due to weight and settling

Just wanted to say I did a double take at the title. I was the guy that got Cellulite and Cellulose mixed up .. Said to myself .. WTF? lol
