The Dutch zoos are definitely on another level in this video. 3 great enclosures! On Wuppertal: 300 m2 is only the outdoor area. They have another 234 m2 indoors (which of course still isn't impressive)

I love Salonga. It looks awesome and has so much fun education. Unfortunately I barely catch the bonobos outside. Planckendael seems amazing as well. I'm a sucker for good theming.

My Best Bonobo Enclosures is from Cologne, from Ouwehands, from Wuppertal and from Planckendael. I like for Apes🐵🦧🦍 (Bonobos, Chimpanzees, Gorillas, Orangutans and Gibbons) to have a Huge Enclosure (Outdoor, to have Tropical Rainforest with Climbing Frames and Indoor, like Ape House and Nest).

Thanks for the tours! If I can give you a suggestion for future videos, it would be nice if you could also add the name of the zoos written in the video. Some zoos are not well known for everyone and we have to stop the video and check the description to understand the name of the zoo.

Indeed! It'll be interesting to see how the chimpanzee video compares though, i feel like there's a few differences. Of course the question is if those differences are caused by it being different species or just different zoos/designs

As a local I can tell you that in the future, after the death of the last two orangutans, there are plans to also give this outdoor enclosure to the bonobos. In the future, the gorillas will even be given up (also only 3 animals) and this enclosure will also be given to the bonobos. Thus, the Wuppertal Zoo would only keep bonobos as great apes in the future. Fun fact, in the past this outdoor enclosure, unfortunately much too small, even had to be exchanged with the last two chimpanzees present, so that the bonobos could often only be seen in the outdoor enclosure in the afternoon or morning.
