I have a bottle of disinfectant wipes kept in my car that I use when I use gas pumps including the key pad and buttons. Did that pre-COVID.

I’m a wheelchair user and don’t have a ramp but like 15-20 steps outside, I need to sit on the ground multiple times and transfer back into my chair to get to the street- bad enough before covid (especially with how gross people are spitting and puking etc) but now I haven’t gone outside in over a year (flu season then lockdown) and won’t be able to go outside till covid is sorted somehow.

Tip: regularly clean drains with baking soda and vinegar (pour baking soda then vinegar let sit overnight) Also vinegar and baking soda paste on your shower floors brings the white back! Just be sure to scrub the paste and let sit for awhile (2-4 hours). It might take a couple of cleanings to get your white shower base looking new but it’s sooo worth it! Ps I clean my toothbrushes regularly with hydrogen peroxide and never use a toothbrush holder. Thank you 😊

When you change out your old baking soda from your fridge/freezer don't toss it put it down your drain and chase it with vinegar. Run some really hot water before and after or boil a kettle of hot water and pour that down it. Also when you clean your drains also clean your spigot. I keep an old toothbrush in the dishwasher at all times. It's great for cleaning spigots out because you don't have to unscrew anyting. Just run some hot water for a couple minutes then take the toothbrush and push the bristles up into the spigot where the water comes out. Each time you pull the bristles out turn on the water to flush out the stuff that you've loosened up. Repeat this until the water runs clear. You'll be surprised at what comes out.

Before Covid-19, didn't think much about "Shopping".. Just went to the store got what I needed than went home. Put it way. Never thought about where an item had traveled. Where it had been or Whose touched it. Now, I wear gloves, and I pick up what I need. Get home, As I don't have a garage (Apt Living) I have a designated area for my purchases in my apt. I carefully separate my bags by the area I will be putting the stuff way. I take the items out of the bag, wipe them down with wipes and put away. I even remove certain items from their package and put away. I have a garbage bag next to me to dispose of wipes, containers and grocery bags and take them out to the garbage. Than I clean and disinfect the area I used. And than I wash my hands with soap for 20 seconds. Hand Cream has become my new friend. As for "Gas Pumps" I wear gloves and have my wipes. I wipe the pump handle, outter door knob, open door remove gloves, wipe inner door knob, close car door, wipe steering wheel another wipe for my hands. Dispose of wipes n gloves in my small trash can in my car. (It is emptied when I get home) As I am immunocompromised I am very mindful now. I did not think of myself as immunocompromised until Covid-19. I am a 7 yr breast cancer survivor and a type 1 diabetic. As well as a seasonal and plant asthmatic. Now I think twice because we All need to be more careful. Stay Safe and Stay Healthy...

I repurposed my laundry detergent bottle with the squirt pump into a hand wash station. I keep this full of water in my car and carry a bottle of liquid soap. Then I can just quickly rinse, soap, and rinse my hands. Soap works better than hand sanitizer anyway. We also take this camping with us. It works great and recycling a plastic container is also great.

When I got home from school the first thing I did was wash my hands, because I didn’t want to spread the dirt on my hands from school around my house. I’ve done it ever since. I‘d like to point out that the most dangerous thing is still aerosols. We still need the good microbes to stay healthy. So our best protection is eating right, because 70% of our immune system resides in our guts. Cleaning may confer a feeling of control, but we can also control what we eat and feeding good gut bacteria with lots of fibre is a much better bet than putting the focus on cleaning.

If you don't wanta touch the keypad at the store wear disposable gloves.using another card is just getting germs on the card and your touching anyway so it's not really keeping you from touching the germs on it.

@@southernlovely8429Well it makes no sense to use a card to touch a keypad when the keypad has germs on it which means the card gets the germs on it so how do you figure it being a dumb comment, I guess you got no sense of logic. makes more sense to use disposable gloves so you can just throw them away afterwards. Not trying to be rude just making a point. Nuff said.

@@EDBailley i don't think she was saying you made a dumb comment I think she was saying Melissa made the dumb comment and that she was gonna find another youtuber. I could be wrong and really it isn't any of my business but I'm just putting my 2 cents in and telling you what I think she was trying to say lol. I didnt even hear Melissa say anything about keypads or cards but then again when you have a 10 yr old, 4 yr old twins, a 2 yr old and lets not forget my sweet but often loud hubby it's a miracle that I even got to watch half the video 😄

My local cvs drive through. I went to pick up my son's medication and was NOT expecting them to hand me that little clipboard with pen (cord attached or was it made of rubber bands..??) for me to sign after they swiped my bank card for payment. I have been icky about having to hold that clipboard so many times prior to COVID but I'm just shocked after months of me not going to the drive through that they are using that method and EVERYONE is holding that clipboard and pen. It's grimy, disgusting, covered with virus and bacteria of all the sick people coming and going from that pharmacy to pick up their monthly or weekly medications. I pulled up and forgot to put on gloves because I wasn't thinking they would do that.

I definitely thought of all of these things before.... I think the only things would be my sunglasses and to go cups! I don’t really go anywhere but the last few weeks I started running a few errands again. I disinfect my hands before reaching into my bag and wallet because otherwise I pull out a disinfecting wipe and wipe down my card or ID on the spot, use a cheap wallet now to wipe that down too. But I still do this when I get home...crazy? Maybe, but I can’t risk it. Living in NYC I’ve heard the sirens 24/7 and it’s just so terrible! Stay safe everyone!

We have disposable gloves in our car and use one to pump gas. Touch my car and cc with the ungloved hand, pump and card keypad with the gloved hand. Throw out the glove at the gas station. We only have to get gas about once per month since we are working from home though. Quite nice to not have to deal with that often.

Hi Melissa and crew. Is it a bad idea to put vinegar into your toilet tank? I was watching a video about using vinegar in the toilet cistern - but they're not cleaning professionals who research things before they tell us we can do it. Therefore: is it safe to use vinegar in the toilet cistern? Will it wreck my water intake parts?

Rideshare drivers: This is why reviews are so important with this. If you experience a non perfectly clean vehicle, write a review about that. It's literally part of the job description to keep their vehicles consistently clean. I literally kept a handvac in my car and would vac after every client if I had even 2 minutes of wait time. I'd risk waiting another 30sec to not contract anything from even one bad review regarding cleanliness on a driver
