There are more than 2 bike classes, adventure bikes and sports tourers are also popular. Basically people ride what they like and generally don't necesserily care for much of the others. I've never liked riding sports bikes as I don't find them comfortable and I don't want to ride on the edge all the time. I used to enjoy adventure bikes but now I just love large cruisers with comfort and power plus somewhere to stash your stuff. Mine is a 1500cc Honda Valkyrie and sports bike riders regularly slice me up to prove how fast they are but I doubt they will continue riding on from the UK to somewhere like Rome which is one of the places I've ridden to on it. There is no BETTER bike - it depends on what you want to ride and how you like to ride it.

Yep, Cruiser is my first choice and Adventure Is my second! I went through a short sport bike phase in my early 20s but only lasted a year thankfully really one of my major regrets in life is that year! And my step uncle raced superbikes at Daytona and as far as I am concerned where they should stay! Sport bikers around hear (West TN) are mainly jerks and a menace to all other vehicles on the road!

Easier to ride? Maybe off the line. But I've watched several squids try to take a 900lb Harley into a fast sweeper only to end up in the weeds. Or worse. Canyon carving on a heavy cruiser requires every ounce of skill a 30 year veteran of the roads can muster. Anticipation, heavy braking and counter-steering pressure that would crush a melon. Squids often don't have the skills.

I've always been a cruiser rider. Got a C50 after 25 years without a bike. It was intimidating even though the motor was about the same size as my Honda 700 Shadow. The Suzuki looked big as a bus. But I knew I wanted shaft drive and water cooled. Matter of fact the 2019 looks exactly the same as my 2006. Another plus, cruisers don't age, always look great.

Being tall is not a reason to buy a Harley. The lower seating position on a Harley is ideal for shorter riders. Tall riders don't buy them because they (the rider) are tall, they buy them because they are cool and they like them. There are dozens of videos on you tube of tall riders complaining that their bike is too short...but none of them are on Harley's. All the Harley guys are pleased as punch. Cruisers are just better...for all sizes.
