I think the best things I've ever drawn/painted were the loose ones. I think its because I become passionate about the colors and the composition, rather than the accuracy of them. You get this deep feeling of artistic enjoyment. I think composition, color and linework is an emotion, so its more important to focus on that passion you have inside rather than whats correct becuse it creates a more satifying whole. When I focus on accuracy I often loose this passion and end up frustrated, and the micromanagement and control backfires as well. Thanks for bringing this to my attention more!

I’ve been thinking exactly the same regarding music. There is a culture currently of perhaps trying to over-polish and perhaps over produce music and this, I feel, detracts from the artistic expression, exactly as you are describing here. Interesting parallel, cheers.

Totally agree! Sometimes that raw, unpolished feel captures the heart of artistic expression better than perfection ever could.

When I write in my diary I try to write well, as if someone else is going to read it one day. It's like living in a panopticon.

That's such an interesting way to put it! Writing like that can really help you express yourself more clearly-almost like you're writing for your future self to reflect on.

Not to be critical but I wish you would of been drawing a younger man or woman while explaining this. It's easy to draw a parrot because their specific details aren't ingrained in most peoples minds and so you automatically have the freedom to do it however you want and with your skill it's always going to look somewhat impressive no matter. But I want to see you practicing this with something we all know what it looks like done perfectly if that makes sense. Okay, cool. I just found one of your previous videos of you pretty much doing just what I was saying and thank you for going back in time for my future!
