This video thought me about frame data finally, never actually figured out how it worked before. Thanks :3

Oh, I just looked at it and understood that it is just the time showing how long does that atack starts continues finisbes and how much time does it take to recover from block to not be punished.... Pretty easy I tgink although all those words like start up recover continuity all of that can confuse.

One major flaw in your thing... someone can always quit, that can be their action. Sure, in principle a fighting game is deterministic and therefore, unless the balance is truly awful and a character is genuinely overpowered or something (e.g., when a boss character is just added to the roster without changing), everything is "your fault". But that doesn't mean the game is actually fun, or there are good in-game tools to improve, or anything like that. If I spend most of the match, for example, having to very slowly approach an obnoxious zoner, I don't generally enjoy it, even if it's fair or whatever.

Great video! I'm not a newcomer but I've always been a casual player and never took fighting games seriously enough to get good. This has definitely been a helper in learning what's needed in order to improve.

This is very good. But a bit too long for newcomers IMO, especially the part about frame data. I'd focus more on the general idea of plus and minus for that part. People will seek out that next level of info when they are ready.

This is great @BrendanMushi. I’m going to be playing a lot of Mortal Kombat 11 as my main game when it comes out and I’m super excited to learn this game.

It’s my favorite fighting game series ever since I was young. I’m going to be training and learning my characters frames before even hopping online because, I absolutely hate losing and I know since I don’t fully understand it I need to learn it first and foremost after I play through the story mode of MK11 and decide on a main for sure. Right now, I’m thinking about using Noob Saibot as my main character but, I’m not 100 percent sure I want to play the campaign first and get a good feel for a majority of the cast before deciding on a mainS

A main I mean.

@@jordansmoviereviews9787 Thanks! I'm going to be playing a ton of MK11, so you'll see it covered a lot on this channel. Also Noob Saibot looks REALLY cool in the new MK, I think you have a good plan going into MK11.

BrendanMushi yeah, I probably won’t play the campaign like I usually do I probably will hop into the lab and just start learning my character because, if I jump into story right away I’m liable to find more characters I like and I’ll want to switch and jump between fighters too often.

Holy shit, if it weren't for you, I world have never learned properly about Frame Data. Thank you!
@jordansmoviereviews97875 жыл бұрын
Actually @BrendanMushi I probably will play the story day 1 right when I get the game like I usually do. Just to be sure that noob is actually who I want to play because, as I’ve found out sometimes, no matter how cool a character looks they might not fit my play style personally.

I think it’s important to understand frame data, it’s not necessary to learn every piece of frame data for every character just to have a vague idea for key moves; what’s plus on on block, what move is unsafe, which pokes are safe on whiff. Not necessarily the raw numbers but just a vague idea of who gets to act first in certain interactions

Also: “People need to play a certain style...” An entire gaming community wanted a character banned because the character’s super defensive in a game that loves rushdown and shine So much so that we have people throwing dead crustaceans and players

“If you keep getting scored on like basketball or something they’re not gonna stop...” Take notes baseball You have pitchers and managers saltier than the FGC if your opponent is beating you like 11-0 and your opponent hits a grand slam off of a 3-0 count Git gud and stop giving up hits/runs
