I think this game will change this genre forever. The resizing tool is a game changer in its self. The only limits this game has is set by the person playing it. You can build anything you can imagine to build.

Hiysta, the thing on the parasaurolophus is a head crest. It's used for communication, if it does not have a head crest it will unable to communicate each other.

JWE2 for me has been crashing every few minutes which is really annoying. I'm trying to complete JP Chaos Theory and the game keeps on crashing which is making it really repetitive. The update itself was really nice but it kind of messed things up in some areas. First of all, the JP3 male Raptors no longer have their quills on the head. The pterosaurs aren't making any sounds at all and of course the game has been crashing near the point where I just don't even want to bother playing it until there's a fix. PK's Beta on the other hand has been really nice to play. I'm so glad that it hasn't been crashing constantly like JWE2. The animals look amazing. So pleased that they gave us additional species through cosmetics. Looking forward to seeing the game at its fullest when the time comes.

Ah I’m sorry to hear that. I haven’t played it since last week and haven’t tried the new update either but hopefully in time they can fix that in time. They made some nice additions but I think when it comes to a park building game you need freedom to create which is where it fails. PK feels like a game made by players who want to play without limitations and realism which is always a good thing :) I’m super excited to see the new updates getting dropped :)

@@Hiysta true but the way they fought (mostly hunted) in the older version just seemed so natural to me like the allo didn’t go into a certain animation once it caught up to its prey it just bite and did some damage. Honestly I just want hunting to be like the old version but a more improved version. Fighting could be like in jwe2.

I’ve not actually noticed this myself as I spend more time building but I do feel some animations have been removed and some added. I noticed the Tyrannosaurus had more animations including scratching itself but is missing more sounds in the beta. I’m hoping they have changed it so they can focus on it more and then reimplement it at a later date. I’m not hugely knowledgeable on dinosaurs but this game will appeal to those that are and if they are going for realism they will need to improve on this aspects during EA.

Just bought prehistoric kingdom recently, haven’t played it yet though but this makes me really excited to make such cool exhibits especially for ice age creatures, I really hope they’ll add the giant sloth and stuff too, I always will love JWE2 still but it will also be nice to have a game similar to it with more accurate dinosaurs and mammals from the ice age 😁

@@Hiysta yes I have been really enjoying it 😁, it’s satisfying on how detailed you can make your exhibits already, like I created this cool tropical island exhibit for smilodons where the water gets deeper and deeper and stuff with a few ponds around the island, and then I also have created a nice snowy kind of place for my woolly rhinos with a little cool muddy river with a little waterfall and stuff, really like just watching them roam around in the exhibits :)

@@user-dx4mx7hq7l I played it on my gaming laptop, although I didn’t play it much because I’m more a console gamer myself too and it isn’t on console, if you want a dinosaur management sim, I definitely suggest Jurassic world now because it has more realistic feathered dinosaurs now as dlc, well nobody knows what a realistic Dino is :p but a modern take of what dinosaurs could’ve looked like :p and yeah there’s also aquatic and flying too, so best is probably Jurassic world now if your on console :)

Honestly, I prefer JWE 2, atleast for right now. With the updates planned, this game has potential to surpass JWE 2, but with the amount of bugs right now, I am not sure. Guests can randomly appear on roofs, dinos clip through each other. Though I do like the idea of this game being like JWE, except the dinosaurs are (for the most part) scientifically accurate; not always though. THe T-Rex looked more like a giant chicken. It is also an ancestor to the modern day chicken.

You know I liked the first jwe game so much. I 100% Achieved every achievement. When the dust settled I got my criticisms, however, my mom got me Jwe2 and I thought it would be better. It did some things better, but just flat out failed in others. Watching this video makes me heart broken that my prediction was true. The moment this game comes out JWE will be left in the dust ignored.

My intention was to show the difference and my personal choice but I fully understand everyone likes things i do not too. It is still a great game in some ways. There are some things that JWE does really well and sometimes I will play just to see the dinosaurs acting in their environment. For me, I never really got drawn to it due to being limited with custom building a freedom but for others it excel for what they like. I had hoped JWE2 would of made vast improvements on the first but sadly it was still very limited.

The hitboxes in JWE2 are so idiotic, I can't believe they thought it was a good idea to implement that. There's really no reason to implement hitboxes in the firstplace, unless it affects gameplay, people should be able to place stuff wherever they feel like, it's their park.

Prehistoric kingdom and Jurassic world evolution 2 both fill different spots, yes they are both ‘dinosaur park builders’ but they are very different Jurassic world evolution 2 is simple and you can build something to be happy with in a couple of minutes while prehistoric kingdom you can create some so much better and creative but in several hours, Jurassic world evolution 2 and prehistoric kingdom can’t be ‘better than the other’ with such differences unless it’s by opinion.

One of the reasons why I don't like Jurassic World Evolution 2's environment tools is the fact it insists on having grass everywhere. Let's say I wanted a dino from the Jurassic period in my park and I want its enclosure to resemble the area it naturally lived in. So I make all the ground within the fence dirt because grass didn't exist yet during the Jurassic, I then decide to add cycads and conifers with the brush tool because those plants were around during the Jurassic. I add them in and as soon as I do that, there's grass everywhere, even when I try getting rid of the grass it's still there. If I want to get rid of the grass I have to get rid of all the other plants.

Hi Charlotte, firstly don’t be sorry. I understand what you are saying and I myself own JWE2 and do play it. There are aspects I really like about it too. The dinosaur animations are superb, the details and graphics are really nice too and they have some good playing options other then sandbox. I only compare them as they both aim towards a similar audience. Comparing games is what makes games better. Without competition developers become lazy and ignore what the players would like. It’s ok to like or dislike something and be honest about it :)

My only three complaints are the weird building UI, really slow animals, and the weird feather shader. When looking at the pieces in the building menu, the icons are really large for no reason and there’s a lot of waisted space on the screen. The animals also move so slowly. No matter what the animal, it moves slowly and plainly, and they never change from the slow pace they have. The fur/feather shaded is also strange. The graphics are decent, and the feathers kinda fuck with it. The shader is also identical between all of the animals with it. Mammoth, Deinocheirus, Tyrannosaurus, and Pachyrhinosaurus all have the same shader for the feathers and fur.

Theses issues have been mentioned and I agree with you. The latest beta update re-introduced some running animations and jogging like moves which are nicely done. The coats on the animals definitely need improving and variation but I’m hoping over time the graphical enhancements will come.

The "do it yourself" argument is a very weak one, but in this situation, i may as well use it in a "different way". Because you're just being a idiot, it's a indie game with very few developers behind it and a budget that doesn't even come close to what games like JWE 2 normally get; so it *makes sense* for them to take their time with every aspect instead of rushing and everything resulting in a weird mess like Mesozoica was. After all, it's a huge project with a ton of things for the DEVs to work on, ranging from animating and scripting the behaviors of a small Psittacosaurus to ensuring the 100 tons 18 meter tall Argentinosaurus won't just slide across the map because it's too big to properly work. If you think you can make a game with high quality models, animations, graphics (and all the shenanigans this industries has) by yourself and the help of around 10 people in the time span of 2 years, then yes, you can say the Prehistoric Kingdom dev team has been lazy and all that, if you can't, then please, keep your non-sense to yourself.

I preferr jwe2 because its multi plataform in Xbox, PS4 and others pre historic kingdom its not acesssible for me because i don't have a pc :(, but in others reasons pre historic kingdom its better. Sorry for my bad english

I loved Zoo tycoon when I was younger. Brings back so many memories including the first ever Roller Coaster Tycoon game. I think Prehistoric Kingdom has so much potential and should be great fun come EA release

Better gameplay wise, maybe...but JWE2 has accessibility on its side which PK doesn't have. Your product's only going to do as well as how many people you can sell to, and without a console port, that's a sizable portion of potential customers that you will alienate.

There a several reasons to why JWE is a piece of shit. Take a look to planet zoo. They recently added dinos with mods. Honestly the only good thing of JWE is that the franchise was one the first to introduce the zoo theme with dinos. And the good looking yet maybe innacurate dino design. But for people like me who grew with that image as reference for how dinos "looked like", you get used to see that particular design instead of the maybe more paleo accurate design PK is taking. Take a look to planet zoo. It allows a lot of creative freedom and with creatures that look like dinos it sell the idea. At least for me

I disagree, like planet zoo their are going to towards quantity instead of quality. JW2 looks better as of right now in both animations graphics and models. PQ as alot to run if they want to get better, but if they ho like PZ its going to be a micromanagement hell, in PZ you spend more time looking at charts that at the animals wich is cool considering the animal animations from climbing and jumping is super buggy

How is PK quantity over quality? They don't have half the species JWE 2 has and all of them have unique sounds, animations and skins. meanwhile, JWE 2 has like 5 basic dinosaur animations and they just throw they around while adding a ton of dinosaurs just to say " they have a lot " For example: Kentrosaurus, Stegosaurus, Wuerhosaurus and all other Stegosaurids just act and move the same, with most of them having boring "sample" sound effects.
