Thanks, I am using a Kata backpack to store the lens un-mounted on the centre compartment.

It has hardly left the camera since I bought one 18 months ago ! A serious investment for a pro/am shooter ! My locking collar rotation lock has broken but otherwise it is a tremendous piece of glass ! No other faults noted so far amazing quality !

Thanks for the comments, it is an amazing lens, light, sharp and good optical quality. I follow your KZbin channel also, amazing video and awesome photos and video captured with the A1 & 600GM.

Thank you for your comment. I am glad you enjoy the video.
Debating if it’s worth purchasing this for £11,999 over the Sigma 500 f4 I got for £3300, which already has very good quality and autofocus with the MC-11.

hi. what lens plate you use on your sony 600mm. thanks
@kiah93182 жыл бұрын
It is a Manfrotto lens plate (a standard lens plate for Manfrotto 502 video head).

@@kiah9318 i saw in one of your videos you also use canon 600mm f4 with r3 combo. :-) im torn. which one to go canon or sony.:-)

@@allgamestotal6773 My first choice is the Sony A1 and FE 600mm GM. Firstly the 50MP has more resolution for cropping and the overall set up is lighter and compact. However, I do like the R3 Ibis and RF 600 F4 image stabilizer that worked in synchronization that able to capture smooth video footage by shooting handheld or support the equipment on a bean bag. There are pro and con for both system, it is up to your personal preferences or any legacy lenses that you already had that is able to work with either brand of equipments.

640GM绝对是超级镜头,尤其是在高像素机器下,640和260的差距简直和价格差一样。
@kiah93182 жыл бұрын
您的看法是非常正确。260的优势是轻便。

Canon 600mm Version 3 is 3050 gms so comparing Canon 600mm Version 2 with Sony 600mm f/4 is not fair , Canon has now mirrorless R3 , R5 and R6 bodies too. i do understand that this video was done in May 22 so 6 months back Canon 600mm Version 3 was available.

I had both the Sony A1 FE 600mm GM and Canon R3 RF 600 F4 for about10 months. The R3 and RF 600 was a good combination. It is light, fast AF and superb image quality. Unfortunately I can only keep one system, which is the Sony system.

For me the Canon 600mm F4 RF with R3 is the Ultimate combo, i had the A1 - sold it while i can get my money back, the Canon had better noticeable Image Stabilization, Weight was almost same as the Sony 600. Low light performance in the forest for the R3 and 600mm F4 was far superior than the A1 with Canon 600 My RF600F4 fits in my back pack has better more truer 600 magnification 1.5 compared to 1.4 magnification of Sony. The R3 has much better battery life and is very light and proved to me with better eye focus than the A1 with eye target auto focus total game changer with instant look to focus, amazing. In RAW the Canon was superior with true 30 fps..my Sony A1 sometimes dropped to 12-16 fps.. unacceptable. The most frustrating part was the memory cards.... slower than the CFexcpress B and limited capacity. 2 years ago, Sony was on top. but Today Canon is the Ultimate combo for me.

The R3 and the RF 600mm F4 have some advantages over the A1 and FE 600mm. The video footage captured with the R3 and RF 600mm is smoother and less shaky, I think the IS and in body stabiliser work together to eliminate camera movements.

Great lens sure but mostly 600mm fails to show the environment of the wildlife which adds context and story to a photo.
