Reason 5A: the 'Made In China' sticker is removable. It's the first modification I made to mine in '97. Howard Chatt is a visionary! 😂 And thx for doing a different arrangement of TWCM.

I've taken it car camping. If you have a 1/8 to 1/4 jack that sums to mono, it works as a "phone speaker" better than I imagined it would. Only gets gritty at those higher levels...still better than any Bluetooth device I've fooled with.

@@TeiscoCurlee So, I've had it a few days now, love it, and I found another cool thing it's good for. Adjusting pickup height. It seems really sensitive to different pickups, and I noticed my heights were all out of whack, volumes not even, too hot. So, I adjusted the heights on my 3 guitars to sound good, and even, on the Piggy. Now, on my main amp they all sound so much better, like night and day!

@@rompofotters Interesting! It's a very "honest" amp, that might be why? When playing it clean, it doesn't hide any mistakes or unevenness, at least that's my experience!

I have one. Luv it. Where do I find an adapter for the back? Looks like a mini plug in. Could you tell me exactly what I need? thx
@TeiscoCurlee
@TeiscoCurlee 3 жыл бұрын
I have a Boss power supply usually used for pedals which works well, but the important part is of course to have that converter from regular pedal power connections to 3,5mm (don't know the inch conversion) mini jack plug, with center positive polarity(!) which may not be super common. Pignose have their own power supply made for this but there are also off brand ones with changeable adapters which could work. I would recommend not buying the cheapest one however since I get a lot of noise using those. There's some more info in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/onS1lIqur5uniM0 Hope that helps, let me know if you want more clarification!

I'm thinking about doing the diode mod on my Pignose. Did you eventually keep the mod, or did you restore your amp back to normal?
@TeiscoCurlee
@TeiscoCurlee 3 жыл бұрын
I have kept it modded and it sounds great, I much prefer the sound of it this way. If you desolder it (as opposed to just snip it) it's of course very easy to change back to stock if you don't like it!
@NathanYsebaert
@NathanYsebaert 3 жыл бұрын
@@TeiscoCurlee thanks! I heard your sound demo on the mod and I prefer the non-diode version as well! How about the battery life? How drastically does that change with the mod?
@TeiscoCurlee
@TeiscoCurlee 3 жыл бұрын
@@NathanYsebaert I think battery life does go down a bit and someone on a forum said that the power will go down more gradually during the batteries life than how it is when stock. I can hear that to some degree but it's not very apparent imo. Apparently the diode does some current regulation that keeps it at the same (lower) level until it dies off pretty quickly. Without the diode, the circuit gets more current from my understanding. All components can handle it though, I heard that it could actually probably handle about 12 or even 18 volts instead of the regular 9 but I'm not trying that!

Hi, how are you? This is the first video I've seen of your channel!!! Hey, does the preamp works as an output to connect to an audio interface? Does the amplifier always work, even if the preamp is connected? Does it sound very loud at maximum volume? Thanks you so much!!! I want to buy, so that's why I made a lot of questions :D
@TeiscoCurlee
@TeiscoCurlee 8 ай бұрын
Hi! You can connect it to an audio interface but my guess is that it'll sound quite bad unless you play it through an amp simulator plugin or something like that. It's pretty much a fuzz pedal when using the preamp output. The amp/speaker is always on however so you can't do any silent recording with it. It's loud enough to disturb some neighbors in an apartment building I'd say. If you're thinking of buying one, I'd say go for it since it's fairly cheap and a cool piece of gear. Hope this helps!

Hi. I've recently get one of these piggies and it's fantastic. It became my main noodling, songwriting device instead of my regular 70W amp. A lot of possibilities and a lot of fun. However I don't get the idea of Pignose as a preamp. Maybe I'm lame but why is it still louder than an amp to which Piggy is plugged in? Am I doing something wrong? Best wishes.

Look hard enough you can find small amps with a spring reverb and dual 5” speakers. If you can’t find it you can build it,

Hi Petrus Pignose as a dry amp in wet/dry rig : I use mine that way too ! Thus there's no need to think about isolation issues. Simple and effective ! There's a video of Mike *Analogman* Piera demonstrating the acoustic wahwah trick with a string attached to his guitar. In the vid he also shows an EP booster pedal placed in it. One experiment I haven't done yet is to use it as a talk box. I think it could work fine. Your rotating speaker idea is nice too, I keep it in mind ! About your mod : still no overheating ? I use my Pignose on batteries (or external USB battery pack) 99% of the time, so I consider removing the diode like you explain in your video. Great vids you do ! By the way, your anniversary concert was really good ! Keep on digging ! Cheers
@TeiscoCurlee
@TeiscoCurlee 3 жыл бұрын
Wait that was Analogman? I know I've seen the video but didn't think of who it was haha! Yeah talk box should work, like just hook up a funnel and a hose, right? Could be cool! No overheating issues so far, seems to be a safe mod. Let me know if you try it! Thank you so much for all the kind words, I'm really glad you appreciate my vids!
@SebastoCha
@SebastoCha 3 жыл бұрын
Yeah some DIY build: elastic rubber, scotch tape, cork stopper, a hose inside the pignose maybe or a rolled up cone on the speaker. Funnel isn't a bad idea too! I will mod it someday!

You said in your other video that the reverb completely destroyed your amp
@TeiscoCurlee
@TeiscoCurlee 2 жыл бұрын
No, it overloads it if the amp is on max, doesn't destroy it. With the volume on about 90% it's great.
