I bougth a second hand Pocket 2 Creator Combo at half the price of a new one after the Pocket 3 came out, and I am very satified. I wanted something smaller and better than my smartpone on a gimbal for my walking videos. I agree with you, this is a good and fun camera to use. I realize that the limiting factor is not the technology, but my skills as a videographer, so it is better to have an affordable camera and practice my skills, than buy the best camera and still be a beginner.

I very nearly just bought the pocket 2, but after weighing it up I ended up getting the pocket 3 creator combo. I think the extra price is quite worth it, especially considering the pocket 3 can actually connect to two DJI mics with no extra bits attached. So when they bring the mic out as a separate item, having two will make interviews and such a lot better. With two separate 32bit float timecoded audio tracks stored on the mics themselves, it makes the edit a breeze. I think the purchase of a pocket 3 is simply future proofing your gear. However, as I said, I very nearly went with the pocket 2. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that camera, and if that's the budget to get going then it's worthwhile investment!

I plan to get the Pocket 3 eventually, but the price is just out of my budget, considering I have a few other purchases to make. I think the Pocket 3 is very worth the price, and I agree that it is future proofing. Thank you for your input! I picked the 2 up over the 3. I fly FPV and do short FPV vlogs. I use the action 2 on my quads and wanted to share the same type of video across my vlogs as well. Using my phone worked but was a hassle. I didnt need anything fancy juat something that works. Being able to use the cinelike flat color profile across the action 2 and pocket 2 will make color grading and editing easy. Its a great camera for vlogging!

I have been working with my action 2 for discreet POV videos, have had some troubles getting it right (more about my placement than any issue with the camera) and have yet to use the pocket 2 with the action 2, but that might have to be the case one of these times as that is such a small combo! Ill need to check out your FPV stuff!

I have also noticed how hot it gets, especially filming outside in the summer heat of Florida. Even with that, Ive never had the camera over heat, or get too hot to continue holding, so I count that as a win for the camera! Glad you enjoy it! I love the Pocket 2 very much!

I make walking tour videos videos for fun, mainly with a phone on a gimbal, but borrowed a Pocket 2 and was amazed how discreet it was, most people did not react to it unlike with a phone and those who did were probably not aware it was a camera. The video quality was not as good as my iPhone 15, but it was definitely good enough for 4K KZbin videos, imo. So had a look at a Pocket 3 at a store...I am sure it is a superior camera, but it seemed a lot bigger, to me it loses the advantage of being discreet, especially with the horizontal screen, don't think it is that much more discreet than a phone on a gimbal. If I was to buy something now to make walking videos in areas where being discreet is the priority, such as in less safe areas in western cities or in poorer areas in developing countries, I would probably still get a Pocket 2.

I think this is also a great aspect of the camera... it is very easily overlooked so its not as easy to draw attention! I completely agree. It's a fantastic camera, especially for beginners. It has its flaws, but it can be taught how to film! I love mine and would absolutely purchase it again!

I agree that the pocket 3 looks awesome, but easily 2x the price . I've used gopro's 5,7,9 and just got the Hero 13. But I've had the Mavic Air for a few years and it takes awesome video. So I'm slowly moving towards Dji for my video's on the ground. I picked up the Action 4 creator combo and the pocket 2 creator combo during black Friday sales and I'm really digging the action 4 compared to the Hero 13. I'm sure the 13 is awesome, but the battery life is awesome on both dji camera's. Also the front screen being touch screen is a nice option. I'm still learning how to use the pocket 2, and besides the screen being tiny, it's awesome. Was wondering what camera you used to make this video? I've watched almost every video about the pocket 2 and I can't wait to record with it. I was almost ready to return it and get the 3, but I think I'll use this one until the price of the 3 come down. In addition, the Pocket 2 has a minimum shutter speed of 8 seconds open (versus 1 second on the Pocket 3) which allows the Pocket 2 to take much better night sky time lapses of the stars.

A brand new Pocket 2 runs for ~ $279 on Amazon. The Creator combo (including the mic and do it all handle) runs for ~ $399 brand new on Amazon. It may be 'old' (release date of October 2020), but it still is a very capable and great camera. It stands tall next to current mirrorless cameras. I think the $399 for the creator combo is very much worth it. Even with the pocket 3 out, this is still a great camera and arguably a better solution for newer creators for many reasons over the newer Pocket 3 camera.

All good! Yes, you can transfer the files directly through either the DJI Mimo app, or if you have the phone connector, you can transfer the files that way as well. The easiest way is to pull the micro sd card out and transfer via a micro sd to usb hub to your pc, but if you are on the go and need to transfer to your phone, that is more than easy to do!

If you are far away from the action, or going to be vlogging the events, this camera might not be the best as the sensor is too small to capture enough light. If you are close to the action (where the lighting tend to be the best) then this should hold up well enough. The Pocket 3 has a larger sensor and might be a better choice in the low light scenarios.

Pocket 2 is way smaller than 3. I have all Pockets and I use all of them. I also like Pocket 2 has less blur (bokeh). When shooting places that varies of depth it is good to have everything in focus. Useless to watch blur. In my opinion those are two different cameras for different style of shooting. They actually dont over each other out. There are times when it is good that it fits in your palm. Anyways. The most import thing in video is story, audio and lighting. The rest are the nerds staff not what artists are doing. Even Pocket 1 produces a lot more insane good image what is totally enough for any kind on youtube and home videos or documentaries etc..

I'm going on a 6 week long trip next year to south korea and Japan and wanting to get a decent camera to keep a record of my time there. I've never really recorded like that before so I'm pretty settled on getting a dji pocket because I love how discrete and portable it is. I do absolutely love the new design and upgrades of the pocket 3, but I can't afford it unfortunately so I'm looking to pick up a pocket 2 on ebay if I can. Thank you for the great video though! I do still love the footage of the pocket 2 :)

I would also check out MPB.com for used pocket 2s. They have a warranty and are tested and working! They have great customer service too. That is where I purchased my pocket 2 at!
