You forgot to include that new Smart System does not support 2 batteries, which bikes like the Tern GSD have on the System 2.

I've had my bulls evo2 for 4 months with the smart system and i've had 2 error messages so far, one shut down the bike while riding. New is not always better.

@@Lee-ic2yn if you want the smart system and want a dongle and warranty get it from ebike shop but you will never be able to update it as will brick the dongle plus new updates could stop any dongle working, full gps tracking is on the way so when that update comes no dongle will work. bosch are also anti repair and being total pricks as wont sell parts either peter at ebike motor center is a m8 and he states on his sight he has not seen any damage to any motor from any dongle. they will also be the uk and Ireland warranty service center for brose 4th quarter this year as he has to fix all the fkn things anyway cos brose cant be assed. just dont buy any bike with a shitmano motor as my m8 has a cannyon and madason will only do warranty replacement motors ie you cant buy one!!!! even for 1k fkn boils my piss it does renewable my ass ie throw it down the tip and go get a new one for 10k💩 lucky for me my m8 is the best in the uk at the moment and my bike is nearly 10 years old now with a gen2 custom cx motor from peter its only got 1008 miles on it i had to take it to a local dealer for a can shake as fitted a kiox display to it so that span his tiny mind out then when it was on the diognostic i picked up the back wheel and peddeled it with my arm and said to the tech look no errors, then said why i was doing that and pointed to my badd ass dongle should of seen the look on his face cos there anti dongle and retarded 🤡

Thing is ebikes would eventually become motorbikes....I agree with the law personally ..... If you do away with it you might aswell scrap tax insurance and number plates for all vehicles.....they fact is you can easily bypass these restrictions and face little chance of being prosecuted anyway...just my opinion

@@rikbanter694 not at all... the 25kmh limit is the problem and makes them more dangerous...32 or 35 is a more realistic limit speed and more incline with real world speed of bikes and traffic .

@@cooleyballs1 then surely they must be registered as vehicles and be insured taxed etc here in the UK that Iis similar speed to petrol mopeds ..... Already we have a problem with youths riding very fast pedelecs with no helmets on the pavements etc ....absolutely lethal if they hit anyone

Hi thanks for watching our video and commenting. In answer to your question, although both the System2 and the Smart System motors share the same casing and hardware, the software on the smart system motors have changed some of the torque and peak power outputs. For instance the Performance Line motor has increased torque from 65nm to 75nm. The Active Line Plus has remained at 50Nm torque, however, the peak power has increased from 415w to 600w. However, the Performance Line CX motor is identical between both generations. Overall the motor performance changes are relatively minimal, there are some differences between the two generations. And presumably the "smart" system is there to stop derestricting the bikes..... "spy" may be more appropriate- it'll log everywhere you've been and at what speed and AI will determine if you're legal...Uploading to strava too, bet that means you can't go out and do a KOM and piss off the "real bikers" by mimicking their average speeds just slightly better lol

the gen four cx already had software to detect destricting , but , so the update may be a new system to detect those destructors that were able to defeat the original system of detection .

Smart Systems supports range extenders, but bike manufacturers are blocking them. For this price, it's a total sh!t show.

It does seem that there has been some sort of breakdown in communication between Bosch and some of the bike manufacturers. It’s possible Bosch produced the extenders last minute (in response to the growing demand for them) and manufacturers had already designed their bikes without planning on a range extender. Bosch are a trash company, their warranties are worthless if you use your bike every day as they do not provide courtesy bikes & repairs take weeks or months. May as well throw your bike away & buy another.

We’re sorry to hear that you have had issues with Bosch. We’re an authorised Bosch service centre, as well as being a service centre for most of the other well known motor manufacturers. From our experience Bosch are a significantly better company to deal with than their competitors. Their motors are more reliable and replacement parts normally come quickly (even during Covid). I’m not questioning your experience of them, it does sound like you’ve had a frustrating time, I’m just letting you know our experience. I hope Bosch got everything sorted for you.
