We need to encourage node runners to strive to run more robust nodes with redundancy for your power, and RAID for your drives. As BTC popularity grows it will be imperative that the nodes stay up and running and have the resources to handle the load. Running a node on a Pi is a good starting point to learn how to setup a node but set yourself a goal of setting up a more reliable stronger node eventually.

Will do! I’m actually waiting for the Umbrel Home to arrive so I can replace my current setup.

Hi, I am using a pi 4 myself, so I am not sure about the requirements for pi 5. But I was able to find some instructions for you'll need for a pi 5 install: github.com/getumbrel/umbrel/wiki/Install-umbrelOS-on-a-Raspberry-Pi-5#installing-umbrelos-on-the-nvme-or-usb-drive Hope this helps!

Is there any BTC Node reward?

There are no rewards for running a Bitcoin node. Running one simply helps keep the Bitcoin ledger decentralized.

What is the impact on your bandwidth? Is it always running and using bandwidth 24/7?
@stevenbyang
@stevenbyang 4 ай бұрын
It is using bandwidth 24/7. However since the blocks are roughly 2mb, daily bandwidth use is minimal. Probably around 1GB per day from download and uploading. The only time it’ll use a lot of bandwidth is the initial sync, because the whole ledger is at almost 1TB now.
