This video brings back good memories. I was in Loone for three weeks a few years ago. The ski repair shop did a brilliant job fixing bases which had grooves worn into the bases from skiing plastic artificial slopes. Even though his first reaction was “what did you do to them!” and called the other guy over to take a look.

My wife and I are snowboarding Loon next month for the first time. I’ve been to both Waterville Valley and Cannon, both of which I love, and Loon is sort of the 3rd I’ve always wanted to try. My wife’s gonna do a lesson which is a great deal and I’m just gonna go nuts for 2 days. We’re staying in Franconia for 4 days, and I’m tempted to drive up to Jay Peak for a taste of Vermont as well! Can’t wait! 🏂

Was excited to ride the Kanc8. But what a let down. It stopped 8 times on our ride up. Then I realized why. Lift stops are more often due to disembarkment pile ups, than loading issues. With 4 people coming off a lift, you see the occasional multi fall which stops the lift. Now double it, but this is really an exponetial increase. As we were strapping in, I saw 3 more lift stopping pileups. Sorry, not a fan. I do appreciate the effort/investment, but I hope all resorts don't go this way. Also, the auto bar didn't seem to have anywhere to rest a snowboard, so you foot was forced down the whole ride. My foot was numb when I got off.

Plus be careful how much wax you have on your board because when the conveyor belt ends you have 4 feet to stop before you tumble over the wall... I've had a season pass over 10 years at loon... I'm not renewing it next year

Wow dis you sell enough tickets yesterday. Last time I was in a traffic jam that long the rolling Stones were in town. I stopped skiing weekends 16 years ago. Yesterday was more crowded than school holiday vacation Saturday. The last time I went to loon I thought I was on an l.a. freeway during rush hour.. And I have been going to Sunday river ever since. This sport is over...and the snow hasn't even been worth riding (artificial)...

I usually always hit Sunday river instead on my pass but I had some business/work that day in n.h. But every time I've been to loon midweek this year it has been overcrowded...

Loon mountains base is actually about 1000 feet not 2400 just so you’re aware it’s a decent sized mountain, only an hour from me just got my seasons pass, love that place

1) Steeps make your bowels quiver. 2) Standing in line with your fellow Massholes is more appealing to you than skiing challenging terrain. 3) You want to show off your expensive kit, and no one on the other side of the Notch gives a shit unless you can rip it up. 4) Because you can make it down Ripsaw without yardsailing and "it's a double black, boys!!!", but you shit your pants every time you see DJ's from 93. 5) Apres > Skiing

@@DetriotV8 Went to Loon this past Sunday. Got to the mountain at 7:45 and was able to park right infront of the Kangamangas 8 lift. It was a weekend so I knew I had to get there early for a shot at parking but I’m sure midweek you’d be fine parking

Loon is the most overcrowded mountain in NE. They WAY overbuilt the condos. Not even worth it anymore. And the 8-pack is a joke. It goes ~ half way up the mountain. If you like ice and crowds, Loon is your place!

Big Sky Resort, Boyne Resorts debuted North America’s most technologically-advanced chairlift Ramcharger 8 the first of its kind in North America, it’s also the first Doppelmayr D-Line eight place chairlift in the world.. Loon Mtn Is Only The 2nd 8 Pack But The 1st On the East Coast. Doppelmayr and Boyne Resorts have been collaborating for over 40 years, and together have introduced many firsts to the ski industry. The first eight-seat chairlift to North America, setting a new standard for lift technology in the world. Ramcharger 8 is the culmination of everything we have learned so far, and incorporates many firsts for the North American market; first eight-passenger chairlift, first direct drive motor, first locking restraint bar, first height-adjustable loading carpet, first high resolution video display, and the first of our newest generation detachable lifts. Big Sky, Doppelmayr and Radius Displays partnered to create the largest-ever video wall on a chairlift. The high resolution LED display will feature video content, snow conditions, lift status and even social media posts that tag #bigskyresort. You can’t miss the 30 foot wide screen in the base area! Big Sky spared no expense for passenger comfort. Ramcharger 8 includes heated seats, blue bubbles and extra wide upholstered seats. New for this lift, the safety bar locks in place once lowered and raises automatically upon entering a station. There is also a height adjustable Chair kit loading carpet. Ramcharger 8 is 4,367 feet long with about 16 feet of tension travel in the bottom terminal. The haul rope is a 54 mm Fatzer Compacta. The parking structure at the top will house all the chairs in two rows. The rails are slightly inclined so that parking and feeding is completely automated. Lift capacity can eventually be increased from 3,200 people per hour to 3,600 with additional chairs. Along With It's Separate Fleet Of ( 15 ) 5 Pack Mtn Bike Carriers That Ride In Between The Chairs During The Sumer Months. Unlike It's Smaller Sister Resort loon Mtn That Has to Remove Numerous Bubbles To Install Their Mtn Bike 4 Pack Carriers On The Backside Of The Chairs. There are a total of 13 towers. They have public address speakers that can broadcast pre-recorded messages or live announcements. Towers 6 and 13 have anemometers. Big Sky plans to introduce three Omega V gondola cabins to the lift for winter 2019-20. Two will be dedicated dining cars, allowing guests to sit around a table installed in the cabin for a premier dining experience. Another car will be reserved as a VIP cabin. The CWA gondola cabins will be the first of their kind in North America.
