Right now there’s a massive gap between Real Madrid and Barcelona in terms of the trajectory of where their football clubs are heading right now, but even with the arrival of Kylian Mbappe, they don’t have a dark future. I think Barcelona fans need to focus on their own team because that’s more important to them rather than focusing solely on what another team is doing even though they’re stacked with talent. When Real Madrid were creating a super team to dominate football, Barcelona had Messi and Ronaldinho and while they don’t have a genuine superstar as of yet, what if Yamal develops into a world class player in a couple of years time and they bring in a top player alongside this young core. That’s the right way going forward for them because it’s true that they have a new manager and Hansi Flick will face the same difficulties that Xavi faced as their manager, when everyone is fit they have a team that should be competing in La Liga and getting pretty far in the champions league, they need a couple more players in key position. They’re going up against 3 genuine superstars in Kylian Mbappe Vinicius Junior and Jude Bellingham and they also have a squad with unbelievable players going into their prime, but an optimistic hope that I can give to Barcelona fans is that with the unpredictability of football, a warning sign for Real Madrid is that there’s a difference between having the best players and having the best team because there are other factors to determine how good a team is more than how good it looks on paper and we have to see if they’re going to gel together because talent alone doesn’t guarantee success. They have a great core of young talent in their team: Pedri Gavi Lamine Yamal Pau Cubarsi Fermin Lopez etc and they could potentially add Nico Williams to the mix and signing players like that is how your team is going to get stronger and stronger. They’re not as star studded as they were in the 2010s, assuming they all stay fit, you have a core of young players who are going to be around for the next 10 years. Gavi said it himself, he doesn’t care about what player Real Madrid signs because that’s the right attitude and mentality that you should have because you focus on what your team is doing and how you’re going to build not what another team is doing. We don’t know what their financially situation will look like as in the market they’re going to have to offload some valuable assets in their team and in terms of talent, Real Madrid are a level above them, Barcelona should still be trying to compete with them regardless.
