I am an elderly dutch woman. When I was a child, one of my parents friends was gay. We all knew it and accepted it as a given fact. He was just William, nothing less, nothing more. His sexual preference didn't interest us one little bit

I moved to the Netherlands too. I've been living here for a year now and haven't seen a single sign of lgbtiq presence, which is a stark contrast to Belgium, where I met 2 gay couples in my first day there. To me the Dutch look like a pretty much heteronormative society. It might be different in Randstad, but outside it I don't feel like I can freely express my gender identity.
@elliefuller36673 жыл бұрын
If you want to see LGBTQ presence, Amsterdam has a bit more than other cities in the Netherlands

you can freely express whatever you want. Just cos something isnt the norm, doesnt mean its not tolerated or even cared about.

The Netherlands still is a heteronormative society but that does not mean gay's or lesbo's are not accepted by the average dutch person. Dutch society is also more based on "act normal" so putting on display too everyone that you're gay, hetero or whatever is just stupid behaviour (like lgbtq+ society likes so much to do).
@hansutrecht65553 жыл бұрын
You are very welcome here in The Netherlands. Enjoy your life and your freedom here. Most people here will accept you as a person and not for being straight or gay. That’s not important, although even here in The Netherlands there are people who will have a different opinion, but hey, this is a free country! As long as they don’t hurt other people, they’re entitled to have a different opinion. Keep up your eye opening vlogs for all the people who are maybe not so lucky to be able to live in The Netherlands. ❤️🇳🇱

1 Corinthians 6:9-11 New International Version 9 Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men[a] 10 nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.
