Such a fun game. Really love the way the scoring circles around.

I think Cartographers is amazing. It's a fave with my group. They have 3 more map packs coming this summer. I suspect they'll keep growing it for some time.

I lol'd at "don't know that word", Merry Christmas and happy holidays Jesse and Shira! I have yet to try a roll and write. Might have to try this one.

I bought this game right when I got out of the clinic back in may, since than I've played like several rounds with my friends from hardcore boardgame enthusiast to casual who might play monopoly and risk once or twice a year and everytime once everybody understood: this is tetris but with fantasy and I'm drawing a map They just enjoyed their time with it. Passing around the sheets was such a blast having discussiong and calling each others kingdoms out for their treacherous behaviour etc. Was just fun, it's not a party game but still something I wouldn't mind playing even in lager groups up to 8 or so (my highest number was 6). And still owning those past playthroughs just adds on the emotional value of the game.

I haven’t seen coverage of Cartographers here. I REALLY like this game. Play through would be a lot of fun especially since I can play through along with a video with my own copy. I also love getting the pdf on my tablet and use my Apple Pencil to make a digital art project now. Such a fun game all around

Definitely a great game for me as well. It's something you could teach to most anyone and scales to any player number. Just saying, 'we kind of going to be playing tetris, but draw a map with the pieces" is simple enough for most people to get what will be happening. I also always have my colored pens with, and it definitely adds to the game, I don't think it would be the same with just a bunch of gray symbols. As for the 'take that' I've never had anyone complain about it in this game. I think because everyone has to do it, it doesn't feel mean.

Careful with that knife! 😆 Waving it around while talking is making me nervous for you.

The game is good, but it didn't hit that feeling of greatness for me. I can understand if someone gets wrapped into the drawing and coloring that it can take on a new life. I decided the core game was enough to stay on my shelf as a quick to teach, accessible, low stress, filler. If I'm really gaming though, I'm going to reach for something more even in the roll and write space. In the quick, but more complex space I'd ask for any of the Clever games. In the longer and mid weight, Dinosaur Island Rawr N Write is incredible. I'm looking forward to trying Rolling Realms.

I love Roll Player and I was excited to play Cartographers, and I like it, but I agree, I wasn’t motivated to continue playing it. And then I played Tiny Towns and I liked it so much better, but I did play TT “multiplayer” (it’s really multiplayer solitaire), so maybe that’s why? Just curious, what do you think about Fleet the Dice Game? I’m thinking about picking it up.

@@paulhamrick3943 I haven't played that, but it's one I'd want to try. My next is going to be the Voyages print and play. Looks like Hadrian's Wall and Welcome To (maybe the new space one) are must try games as well. Roll Player is one of my favorites for sure. One day I'll have an opening in my campaign game lineup to try RP Adventures.

The production quality of this game and others from the same designers (Roll Player) is so good that it really helps. Roll Player is great, btw, both solo and multiplayer.

I don't know. After 20 plays I find the decisions so boring. 90% of time, is very obvious what gives you the most points.
