🤔 5 Reasons why I like ArtStudio Pro more than Procreate

For real... the brushes just feeeeeeeel nice. I like Procreate's simplicity, but drawing in ASP feels more satisfying. Hard to explain lol.

This is my go to software. HIGHLY recommend Dean Oyebo brush set on cube brush. Def my fave set right now and works like a dream in art studio

I feel like procreate is highly overrated for the ipad (even tho that's the first thing I bought as soon as I got my 9th gen😭) but I tried it out and....I don't like it💀 I use infinite painter and I've been using it since I had the 6 lite

I love ASP for exactly the same reasons, I also use CSP on my desktop and trying Procreate, I dunno, something was iffy and the selection tool omg, I dislike it so much LOL Once tried ASP it felt so much more natural. I also imported the same brushes I had on CSP (all PS brushes btw) and it's so much easier for me. Random but I have the exact same pencil cover as yours, same colour even 😄

OMG DON'T GET ME STARTED ON THE PROCREATE SELECTION TOOL (SO BAD) 😭. And the same pencil cover? OK twin 👀. But yeah, still using asp for all my ipad artworks!

@@Ciniqo yeah I don’t know why they just couldn’t do a simple and normal selection tool, I can’t even see the selected part 😅 I tried ASP after Adam Duff recommended it in one of his videos and never looked back, I use it all the time too!

So hmm, the typical cursor you would see on your laptop/pc isn’t supported on most iPads except the newest iPad Pro. Can only see the cursor when your pen is touching the screen/canvas. Unfortunately 😭

Yeah super annoying how procreate doesn’t have an outline tool. And yup it is a simple white stroke outline that I used for the ice cream sticker. It was in layers > FX > stroke

How about Affinity Photo for iPad and Clip Studio Paint compare to ArtStudioPro?

Haven't tried Affinity Photo but have tried CSP and can say this. Clip studio paint is my favorite art software ever, but I refuse to use it on iPad because of the subscription part (out of cheapness). It works pretty much as good as the the desktop version but the interface is very overwhelming on iPad for me (too many windows) and gestures in CSP aren't as smooth as I would like it to be? Brush engines on both ASP and CSP are pretty good, they both can use photoshop brushes, and though I think CSP overall is a better drawing software (has so many useful features/tools), if I really want to work with it I'll just draw on pc. But ArtStudio Pro can still get the job just fine, plus no subscription! :D

Yup, it does! Just like procreate. You can turn it on and off and watch the playback as well!

I’ll make a video on this! But you download the ps brushes you want to use to your iPad-> open Artstudio pro -> new empty document -> click brush menu -> click 3 dots icon in brush menu -> import abr/tpl (for a brush set).

How do you save colors on artstudiopro? And make a group

Like a color palette, right? I will actually make a video on this but, you have to open up the colors panel, click the icon with the 9 small squares, three dots -> new empty group -> pick a color with the color wheel -> squares icon again -> add swatch.

Yes ArtStudio has a perspective assist! Can be found under the toolbar > View > Show > Show Perspective grid. And you can adjust the settings and more as well

Im interested in purchasing it but its $40 now. Which ipad version do u have and do you work on larger canvas with many layers. My ipad is 10.5 pro from 2017, afraid it maybe laggy. Free version is available but doesn’t allow me to increase large canvas size or layers to test

Don’t really have a lot of experience warping text in ASP. But you can add text -> rasterize it and go to filters -> elastify or distort. To get a distorted look for your text
