Scott is right, I decided to take the natural route and as a fellow 32 year old I can tell it has it's positives. Yeah, I'm not 270lbs and I can't bench 500lbs but I feel like I'm 20 years old still. Last week in 1 day I was approached by a young girl, probably around 18-19 and she was really interested in what I was doing this weekend and I found myself enjoying the moment to the fullest while she was clearly flirting with me. Now, I didn't go after her, since she was a bit to young for me obv and I'm kinda in the process with another, more similar aged woman. But after watching this video of scott, I realize that I should take this as a good sign, as this girl probably didn't think I was 32 but rather low 20s and she was pretty good looking. If you feel good inside you will look good on the outside because it will shine through. Made my day, scott, thanks buddy :)

You should seriously reconsider dating 20 year olds. I'm 29 and I can't get enough of 19 and 20 year olds. They are extremely fun to play with.
@babejjones98087 жыл бұрын
you should have smashed that. 19 is legal age. Don't let society shame you for liking younger girls. Throughout history men have always dated/married younger women. It's only in today's bull shit feminist society that men are shamed for preferring younger women. Women 18-24 almost always look better than women in their 30's (with of course a few exceptions here and there), and there is nothing morally wrong for a man who is in his 30's to date them.

It's more of a personal preference then social acceptance. The girl I'm kinda eyeing atm is 25, so she's not that much older but it's a big difference in maturity from 18 to 25 from what I've experienced. However my experience is limited compared to some you studs out there who rolls in ladies, so I don't really know shit, to be completely honest.

I'm 47 years old and people always think I'm in my early 30's, sometimes even in my 20's (but that is usually younger people who think that). I've been working out naturally for my entire life (since I was 17). That is 30 years of consistent training. Granted, I have good genes from my mother (who, until she got sick, looked much younger that she was), but being fit and staying healthy contributes tons to my apparent age. I am always asked how I stay looking so young. I always say, stay fit, get good sleep and critically, don't let yourself get stressed out. Stress will age you like nothing else. If you have something that stresses you, cut it out of your life. If you can't, find a way to have a better attitude about it. Worrying about things you can't control will kill you.

Its a gift that keeps on giving. I'm 45 and at my gym I have young 20 something girls looking and smiling at me all the time. My wife is 32 and no one can tell we are in different generations (I pass for 30 something from what I've been told). I've been living this lifestyle since 1992 when I came out the Marines. Great video Scott! I notice especially with IFBB pros, they get really old in the face. I swear Dallas M looks 45 in the face to me and I think he's like 25? Never saw an IFBB pro be described as looking young for their age. Look at Rich P he is my age I think and could pass for my uncle in the face. Social media says often that a lot of pros use recreational drugs, so it may be that. It still blows my mind that Jerry Ward is younger than me, it may be the "other drugs" I wouldn't use either.

It is good to hear someone say they are happy where they are at with muscle mass. Most guys don't seem to know when to quit. Then one day they wind up looking freakish like Rich Piana. . .
@JC500000007 жыл бұрын
that only happens to steroid users... you won't see natural lifters saying that they don't want to put more muscle mass. they might not want to gain weight, but i doubt anyone says that they prefer to stay at 15% body fat rather than 10% with the same weight. and for natural lifters, the process takes a really long time, you wont be buff in 12 months, so it's pretty rare seeing someone saying that they don't want to work out as hard because they don''t want to put more muscle mass. it is like a obese woman saying she doesnt want to eat healthier because she's afraid of looking like a model.

Non-Lifters are always like "wait until you're *insert age*. When you reach that age, people now give you an higher age. Then it wait until you have kids or whatever. At the end of the day, it is just excuses. The point I make to people, if you are inactive and have a poor diet, you body will start giving out on you in your mid 20s. That is from personally experience; as from my teens - mid/late 20s I pretty much stayed in and played video games. I'm 30 now and I ALMOST squat ass to grass. Something I couldn't do probably since I was 6 years old. There are people younger than me that I have more energy and mobility than. There are people at the gym that are in their 40s closing in on 50s that are in shape more than the younger people. The academic that pledges america today is inactivity.

nate smith WRONG. I didn’t even start working out until I was in my mid 30’s. I’m 47 now. I was “soft bodied” and sedentary my entire life prior to mid-30’s. I didn’t smoke or drink. People always thought I was at least 10 yrs younger. The sun or tanning beds r what makes ppl look old.

This video was well done and concise. Good Job. I relate closely to everything you said here. I switched to a truly healthy lifestyle about 2 years ago and just started working out properly 5 months ago. The last part was only made possible by your videos. I am 29 and expect to look good until I die. I wouldnt go back to my old ways for anything now that i know what good health feels like. If I were to give a reason why most people never achieve good health it would be that before we mature fully most of us become addicted to drugs. From caffeine to marijuana to nicotine to heroin. All of it supplements what is needed to feel good. We actually get to the point where we forget what it feels like to be CLEAN AND HEALTHY. This makes it hard to believe that our bodies in their natural state will make us feel AMAZING! I personally went through this whole process. I am here as an example and here to promise to those who arent sure. YOU WILL FEEL BETTER HEALTHY AND SOBER THAN YOU EVER FEEL ON DRUGS. That is a 100% promise. This is no after school special bullshit. I am not a school teacher or pastor. I enjoyed drugs more than most. Tobacco to weed and others. Being healthy and clean is the best high you can be on!

Scott what do you think about yoga. I had a discussion with a massive guy at the gym he's natural and does yoga 3 times a week and his number one tip was concentrate on mobility and flexibility. So your strength is complimented by your range of motion. Do you think this is the right way to think about training and if so what are your thoughts on doing stuff like yoga to increase mobility and flexibility.
@davidramziz32007 жыл бұрын
Adam Dude, flexibility is everything . Well, not everything, but that guy has a point. Alot of lifters on youtube that are legit advocate it, like jeff from athleanx. And he is a physical therapist. lol
@AYouTubeCommentator7 жыл бұрын
Does flexibility improve if an individual would stretch after training in the gym before falling asleep? I heard that you should never stretch before a workout, and I don't use machines in any of my training routine because of machines are worse than using barbells, dumbbells and body weight exercises.
@Leo-yn5fx7 жыл бұрын
Adam The better your mobility, the less other muscles have to compensate for that tight muscle than if you weren't stretching. It makes life easier dude. I used to have tight hips, ankles, wrist, groin, abducts and adducts. You would think it wouldn't be a big deal if I fought through the tightness but IT GOES A LONG WAY! Don't take my word for it though.
@ashachase20107 жыл бұрын
He is correct. Mobility and flexibility work is important. I know many bodybuilders you are now suffering from nagging in juries and the like just because they didn't think it was an important part of their training. You don't have to be able to say split or something crazy but the basics at least. I think there are three main aspects of fitness: strength training, cardio and mobility&flexibility. Your training should touch on all these points.

Totally agree that healthy habits and exercise are key to staying active and healthy. That said, 32 is still really, really young. While we do tend to switch from "growth" to "aging" somewhere in our late 20s, the shift is still barely discernible in our thirties. It's not even that strong in our 40s. It isn't until our 50s where the forces of aging really start to pick up speed, and our 70s when it really takes a deep decline. Aging is a "geometric progression". The older we get the the faster we age. That's the bad news. The good news is, Scott is completely correct. An active, intelligent exerciser in their 50s and 60s can be functionally younger than a sedate, out of shape 20 year old. Our potential for fitness does decline as we age, but we can still be much, much fitter throughout the aging process than is commonly expected. I think you're great Scott. I'm a big fan, but you'll forgive me if I do find it mildly amusing to hear someone who's 32 talk about how "old" he's getting. :-) (Oh, and by the way, I know you're talking about the effects of steroid use, but male pattern balding is almost entirely genetic and is not necessarily an indicator of fitness or "youth". I've read that it's roughly parallel to what decade we're in: 20% of men will start experiencing noticeable hair loss in their 20s. 30% in their 30s, etc etc). And those of you who are smokers take heart! It's always a good idea to quite. But if you quit before the age of 35 the risk of complications down the line due to smoking drop significantly. Forgive me for going on, Scott. Aging - and our conceptions around it - is a huge area of interest for me. The fact I felt comfortable enough to comment is an indication of how much I like and respect your channel. All the best!

I remember watching your video on roids and researching all those dudes who died from roids or as guys on the juice will say "it's from organ failure, not steroids you noob"! Holy shit, the bodybuilding community does a good job of sweeping these things under the rug. I never knew how many guys drop dead from juicing. Great video Scott

yeah well if you don't take care of yourself...of course you may not age well, though genetics is also a factor, IMO.

I agree on everything you said. People can't believe I'm 56 for instance. Working out is as natural to me as eating and sleeping. It is my fountain of youth and I get such super rush from it.

I've only just started my fitness journey about a month ago and it's been a tough but satisfying experience so far. Your videos help to both regularly inform and motivate me to continue pushing myself. Thank you for doing this. I really like lifting weights now! I never did before, but only because I was very impatient and ill-informed about the whole process so your videos have helped me immensely.

Your soooo right. (ol dude here) 56, but have been doing the same thing for my whole natural life. Started waaayyy back in the late 70's after being picked on (14) and then became a boxed (not competition) but sparing and training. Then in early 80's started as a Nautilus trainer in a New England fitness center. Left there and got into deep philosophy with Dr Arthur Jones, Dr Ellington Darden and Steve Wilson. The last 22 years I have had my own fully equipped gym and occasionally personally train others, but HIT is mostly what I am about with circuit training. OK- so I am no muscle bound limited range gorilla, but many people comment about my age thinking I am 36-38 at most. I am 6' weigh 165 and have a BMI no more than 12%. I also play music and ride dirt bikes in the woods, so when I am not training I tend to be a bit heavier (175) but have not gone above 175 in last 10 years. I drink about a gallon of water a day and work out 3 times a week

airbomb34 lmao that's what it really kills me, and now I'm trying my hardest to break all the bad habits I started seriously working out about and month and a half ago and I've managed to drop from 280+ to 270 But the amount of research that one needs to do to find the right sources to properly eat and work out good is ridiculous with the massive amount of missinformation
@maxk8807 жыл бұрын
It's actually not hard. You will always come back to: Too fat? > Eat less. It's that and only that. I eat a shitton of junkfood ( I know, it's unhealthy), but I'm still very good looking because it fits my caloric intake

Good video Scott. One additional remark: the human body is a incredible robust machinery, i'm convinced almost every damage it takes can be reversed, it takes a long long time before the damages become so severe and permanent that nothing can be done. And I'm talking from own experience, i f**** up my body pretty bad, for a pretty long time.

24 versus 32, is a very silly comparison, most genetic/d.n.a reduction doesn't start until puberty is 100% finished, when you hear people say you're dying from the second you're born they're wrong, you don't break down until after puberty.. most people that's mid 20's... so to compare a 24 to 32 to see if they've aged well,... is just silly... compare 30 to 50 and then we should be given a realistic idea.

Full range of motion is better for joints than partial range. I have also noticed that while enhanced athletes look better in their younger years, but as time goes by, natural athletes are able to maintain it for a much longer time. However, I never knew why. Thanks for validating those of us who choose to stay natural.

That's a good vid. Yeah I have a few family promises I've been made to keep too, not steroid related but I understand. I've never taken steroids, the only one that interests me is Primo. I use to smoke, started early 20s after some bad girls & sports fell out. I drink on rare occasion, maybe once or twice a year. Honestly I love it! Only reason I don't more is because it's awful for health/gains & the more consecutively you do it the worse your hangover symptoms get. You seem like a real good hearted dude. I appreciate your attitude! Keep staying true to yourself :) Wish I knew more dudes like you!

There is just no substitute for dedication. If you choose to stay natural, you have to view it as a lifestyle commitment not a hobby. Therefore, EVERYTHING you do - eat, sleep, train, lifestyle chooses (smoking, drinking, drugs) - needs to be with your health and physique goals in mind. If you adopt good habits early and/or change your life for the better, your body and health will reflect this permanently.

As a 63 yo who began weight training 18 months ago, I have made great gains. I train my upper body really hard 4x times a week (split) for 1.5 hours per session (about 2 minutes rest between sets). I keep my rep range about 10-20 depending on if the movement is compound or isolated, and do most sets to failure, or almost failure. I'm careful about not doing lower reps or max lifts due to older joints. I also do movements that aid my shoulder mobility and elbow joint mobility as these are vulnerable areas for us 'oldies'. I'll keep pushing it hard and see where my genetics and age take me. I'll be lifting until the end, the benefits are numerous for us older folk. Unfortunately, I have severe osteoarthritis in both knees due to sports injury and age. That's ok, it gives me an excuse to avoid leg days... Lol

41 this year, been natty strength training for consistently for last decade or more and eating well (last few years using IF, best way EVER of staying lean and strong, as well as feeling incredibly well every day) Agree with everything you say, although since using IF protocol for diet, I take issue with the `conventional wisdom` of eating little and often. In my experience, IF 16/8 (or even 18 or 20/4) works WONDERS, if you can do it. Know your macros but don't neglect the MICROS! Cronometer is a fantastic tool for tracking both, by the way (also free).

I agree with what you say,100% I’m 49, and people think im in my early 30s, and as with the steroid thing...what I’ve often noticed is guys on steroids are not as strong as they look, and find myself routinely outbenching guys three times bigger. Do I use supplements? Of course, my fave is Acetyl Carnitine which I combine with ALA, I train fasted at 6am six days a week. I’m as fit as anyone in there 20s, I burn over 6000 cals a day, and I am a month away from finishing my first ever bulk, I gained 5kg and managed to keep my fat% under 13%. I don’t have to do any of these things, but I want to stay lean and fit for as long as I can
