I've always played solo and enjoy the game. You just have to play smart and never be reckless. Don't make a ton of noise, if you do gather quest, stop frequently to LISTEN. LISTENING and being aware of your surroundings is NUMBER 1 RULE! If you hear footsteps, hide and be extra quiet, or run if you are a fast creature and abandon what you were doing. Yeah, it sucks at times but that sip of water, singular quest or food is not worth your life. There are many tips for solo survival. I love community servers but majority of my game time is from official servers growing things to adult and getting my favorite skins. It's silly to me when somebody complains about it being too hard of a game or its impossible alone but in _those_ videos these same people are out in the open, never pay attention and make a TON of noise which just SCREAMS "Come and fight/eat me" In these survival games. Be it MMO, Arcade-like, or horror; each of them is a survival game *FIRST* & it's vital you treat it as a dangerous survival game when you are still vulnerable. *edit for typos

I agree but the downside of this is it can be extremely tedious to play. Particularly when you just wanna get some questing done. This is a grind heavy game and this play style (altho necessary) makes it even worse, in that regard. I don't wanna spend the entire game hiding in a bush avoiding giant mix pack gangs treating the global chat like world star lol. Or god forbid i actually sprint to a location instead of legit spending hours just to walk there

Yeah geiing mix packed is not really a skill issue it's frustrating. Having to pick up mushrooms is not fun specially as a carnivore. Playing solo is no where near as fun as playing with a group

Another thing I’d like to add onto this as someone who’s basically stuck solo lol: another issue would be revenge killers, revenge killers I’ve had the experience of although awful even as big strong Dino’s against weaker tiers will IMMEDIATELY swap to another dino that is near the area, go over and low kill half the time with a group they form for it by calling some ppl on, I’ve personally had to experience it a lot even on officials (an example would be where my juvi sarco killed a sub adult kentro who was being way too aggressive and he came back with a group of megs) if your in a pack your pack mates can help protect you from this or you have better chances of survival vs when you have to face all of that alone.

I think it'd be really interesting if they made a solo official server. Meaning no groups, no group chat even. No way for players to identify each other or message each other. I'm sure the normal shitheads would get around this, but who's to say if they even get placed in the same server? It'd take forever for them to group up. I think this would lend itself to "realistic" dino gameplay more than anything else, especially if ai gets added to the maps. And it'd be perfect for when you just wanna quest while occasionally hunting other players

When I first saw (and got) Path of Titans, I thought there was a gamemode like this for solo players. Basically, where advanced AI plays as the creatures that we will play (Amargasaurus, Megalania, etc) So no mixpacking, no toxicity, no overly huge groups, etc. Was kinda disappointed when I found out there was no solo mode like that for a bit tbh

I think if you are a solo player, you should at least get a “Lone Wolf” Buff to at least allow Solo Players deal with gank squads. But I have came to realize the people would abuse it and make mix packing and gank squads more problematic. Only if there was a way to make it work without it getting exploited by people in groups on discord or Party without being in a party in game.

Just got my Pyco to adult and I have say being KOS for no reason has been the biggest frustration, idk why it’s always Sty’s or Pachy’s either. The main key for solo players is to stay low and traverse on a knife’s edge. Keep your eyes peeled whenever your stopping to eat, drink, or picking up quest items

I play solo 95% of the time cause all I ever see in chat are toxic / aggressive kids who haven’t progressed past puberty stages. The few times I did group up with the same Dino’s to form a pack, I was immediately KOS by some loud kid who figured it was “fun” to Harass a juvenile who couldn’t fight back.

I play solo a lot and find it ok, but I would like grouping more if people didn't hog all the quest items. There's been so many times where I hardly get the chance to pick anything up, and if you don't participate in the quest you get no growth. I do my best to only pick up half depending on how many people are in the group, but I've noticed others just don't care and will do it all themselves. So while growing I find it faster to reach adult solo in a weird way lol.

The food problems also comes from the lack of a scent system, wich i always asked myself why did they never implement a scent system on a animal survival game, i mean, i think its pretty important. some creatures could rely more on scent than others. or also aid in finding players.

I’ve played most Dino’s solo and I 100% agree. Your own skill as a gamer doesn’t matter when you get mic packed. Numbers are everything in this game and the only meta is outnumber whatever you hunt. Spawned into young grove on an adult Meg only to spawn right into a mix pack of ankys and rexs working together. Tried running to the water just for there to be a spino working with them. Turn around and I’m gettin chased by adult stys 😭. There is nothing you can do to win these situations. Let alone it takes so much longer to level solo vs a group. Game needs help

The state of the game is horrid right now. Main things that hurt solo play: bad balance, major mixpacking everywhere you go, repetitive gameplay that is droning after your 5th dino, etc. I normally play solo since only my best friend is willing to play with me but even they are tired of the gameplay loop. TLDR ↓ These are some of my experiences -I think questing while solo is easier since it is quicker. Unless your group is already grown and will let you get all the rewards, to me it feels like it slows down a lot and isn't worth that extra effort. -Mixpacking has gotten worse and worse and there's nothing stopping it. Majority of players are carnivores and the only herbivores I ever see are babies who are hiding in a corner of the map or they're mixpacking with carnis because that's the only way they survive. I forgot I left my ano at SLL months ago when I actually happened to have a group and I logged back onto it a few weeks ago. Last I played, SLL was a hot spot but it was manageable. I logged into probably a dozen players ganging up on me not even 30 seconds in. Most of them were apexes and the few midtiers that were there were just to give chase if I did run. Rexes, spinos, allos, a deinocheirus, cera and metri. Every time I logged onto panjura after that, I lost my dino very quickly to a mixpack. Very unlucky lol. I've just stopped regrowing them at this point. *In the past devs have removed food from hotspots so people go elsewhere but that only pushes more people into a certain spot. If there's no food and barely any water, why would players go to that spot. That also makes the current shortage of food and water worse than it already is. If every place on the map was enticing with good rewards/quests, plenty of food/water, etc., then it wouldn't be so bad. Whether or not there's stuff to do, people will always find a place to meet up though, that's just how it is. -Even solo, eating enough food can be a struggle, mainly for herbis since their food drain tends to be faster than carnis'. I refuse to switch to a diet that makes my food and water drain even faster and makes me eat my quest items. If there's barely enough food for one person, how do they think 100+ are going to survive on a server consistently with no issues. Currently majority of official servers are capped at 85-90 and there's nowhere near enough. Water quality in a lot of places is near or at 0% a lot of the time. That's another reason I don't group, not enough food and water to go around for a normal herd or pack to live comfortably. More so herbis because, again, their food and water typically drain faster. -I can see why the devs don't want rules on official so players can do what the want but there's nothing stopping a group of 20 ppl organizing a group of rexes and going around wiping out any other groups. Replays are right around the corner so if they wanted to finally add rules, they could. -My last and probably biggest gripe is the balance. In the early stages, it was pretty good. A few dinos needed tweaks but overall it felt solid. Herbivores were nowhere near pushovers but they were not invincible. Carnis with a brain and willing to put in the effort, could still kill them. There were always corpses around so they wouldn't starve even if they failed hunts, which I liked that, it was fair. Herbis generally had longer lasting food and water if I remember correctly so carnis had to make the call to either make a move or give up the hunt and try something easier. If you got in the way of a styraco's horn or a stego's thagomizer, it HURT and rightfully so. Then the "rebalance" patch came out and jacked everything up. The stats as they are now would only be good for 1v1s, that's the only instance I see them being viable. Now, it feels like a lot of things are around the same speed and put out the same amount of damage and the only determining factors of who wins are: who got the first hits, who has more players on their side and is their combat weight high enough that your damage does just about nothing. The devs constantly say they're just placeholders and rarely budge to tweak them but why did they mess with the stats that much in the first place, if so XD *I would love to see herbis strong like they were before but have their playstyle leaning more towards defensive. So they can finally hold their ground, even if they might be outnumbered but they have less incentive to go out and chase/hunt. The exceptions being struthi, campto and pachy since they need to be fast. Another thing I wouldn't mind is grouping only within your species for both carnis and herbis. While this wouldn't completely discourage mixpacking carnis, mixherding herbis and mixpacking carnis/herbis, it would make it more difficult so something like a cerato couldn't chase and bone break while they wait for their 5 rex friends to catch up. Vice versa since herbis can do the same (although it is more difficult for them). That would put more herbivores in the world and make hunts more high stake. While you don't lose much growth from dying once, you'd have to pick your fights more carefully or dying multiple times would add up real quick. I want to try out more dinos and play the entire roster more often but you just get jumped most of the time for your attacker's entertainment. Most dinos are not viable for solo play. So I either play something fast that can escape or I don't play at all, which I wish wasn't the case. I was a backer and was so excited for this game since it was the one thing my friend and I could play together at the time. Now it's just a mess and I find it hard to enjoy it.

I find it best when I'm grouped with Adult Dinos, as they usually don't hog the group quests. This allows me to do 100% of the group missions and grow quickly. Other than that, Solo can be difficult. It's about being aware of your surroundings at ALL times, and picking up the slightest hint to let you know you're not alone. When I step near a river or lake, and it's not at 100%, I flee in the opposite direction. This means someone else was recently drinking at this lake, or worse, there's a sarco in it. This also applies to missions. If the sticks (Berries, nuts, clams etc) have been partially gathered, make sure your stamina bar is full, and keep an eye out for anyone nearby.

I play solo and it is more difficult, what with no one for defence and the time it takes to level up. And I'm sure I have an easier time than most solo players because I play as a Sarco. But being difficult and not being fun are two completely different things in my oppinion. Great video!

When I play solo I listen to some music in the background or a podcast. Makes it less boring grinding away for growth or for skins. And yes, the game becames more fun when you play it with friends, but even THEN theres groups, clans, who can ruin your day. We had it in the past when the map was smaller; we used to go Highlands because the quests were really good there for that time but a french clan also knew this and they were camping the spot almost 24/7! They had at most times 20 trikes and ducks there - remember this was before these got nerfed and there weren't any rexes! and they all had the same backerskins. I rememeber tons of people complaining about them because as soon as you came up to the place they would kill you for nothing, even if you were a small juvi fresh out of homecave! So even if you have a small gang of friends (like 10 people or so), you can't deal with clans like that who can just swipe the whole server. The devs didn't care about the issue at all, they just said, well, go quest somewere else. And that was the problem because there weren't many good places to quest when the map was smaller, so you got punished for something you coudn't do anything about.. The mixpacking on Path doesn't ruin my day as bad as it does with Isle Evrima. Back on V3 there were moderators - if you were found mixpacking or overpacking you would get a 48 hour ban. In this game, and in Evrima, that is no longer so. I think that is in one way sad because once again it gives people in larger groups always the recources and the good spots to grow/hunt and don't let me get started on the stegos who hunt other players together with carnos or utah buddy's! Its sickening! The only option you have left then as a solo player is to get "banished" to community servers.

Kos mix packs on official servers the most toxic. They just ruin the fun for everyone. But I’ve also been attacked by packs that keep one member at a waystone so they can keep bringing their friends back into the area. I was playing adult Rex and killed 10 of them before I just starved from the constant harassment.

Kinda wish the game had a buff mechanic for solo players. Like yeah, it wouldn’t be “realistic” since in nature, a pack would have an advantage. *But* this is a game at the end of the day and solo players will always have a disadvantage against groups who have chats to have “plans and strategies” to go against you. And in a game with no Ai dinos, groups will just straight go to mess with you. And sure the game is about that. But you can sometimes tell is just because they know they have the advantage. 😵

Mix Packing, trophy hunting and kos are the biggest frustrations for me as a solo player and a.i. Dinosaurs would improve this a lot because it will divide the attention to solo players. So what I don't understand is that the Devs have priority for combat changes and then quest updates (which is also important) but when will the a.i. Dinosaurs come? 2024? Although it is an MMO, the game is played as a battle royale with groups until then. That's just my opinion atm.

People revenge killing is one of my least favorite things. Back before HC camping debuff, there was this rex camping cascades HC for HOURS. As in, me and my friend passed them several times, came back about 6 hours later, and they were still there spawn killing people. So my friend who was on his rex at the time goes and kills them, and they come back later with a meg and a trike to kill us. 3 people to kill a rex with 6HP left, and me, a sarco on land. All because we interrupted their 6 hour camping session. Imagine being that mad.

One tip il give assume everyone is not friendly and if someone looks like there being aggressive or following you if your in similar strength Dino be the first to attack also you could just play on a community server with realistic rules in place most of them have no mix Packing a limit on apexs in a group and passive growth which really makes playing solo quite easy it will just come down to your skill in combat

Personally my favorite solo dinosaur has to be Spino, I’ve killed many sarcos with it and other dinosaurs by playing their own game against them. Gondwa as a Spino main is much more easy and fun. Definitely anticipating Tylo to really have that solo massive aquatic predator itch scratched

I think there should be some passive growth for solo players. Passive growth until you join a group, once you join a group, you’ll only grow through quests. It can be a group debuff or solo buff.

I just wanna Walking with Dinosaurs experience where can hunt, survive and start a family in a single player campaign. Someone said it already but if you're solo the difference is how you play the game. You have to be stealthy AF. Good headphones, listen for movement, stay away from hot spots, stay in cover, etc.... I rarely pack up and it's that version of the gameplay I enjoy. Ninja dino....there's something about hiding in a bush while 2-5 pack dino's walk right past you without realizing it....that's good fun.

Thalassodromeus is easy game solo, you just don't pvp unless its juvie hunting. You steal from larger carnis and finish off carnies who lie down badly hurt after a fight. SOME species are definately better with a team but most are definately soloable. Also I do not understand the appeal of playing mixpack servers. Realism or semi are the way to go if you're not playing official, there is rules preventing broken herb/carnie combos and mixpacking so it waters down the assholery.

It's almost impossible to have a 1v1 on official servers. The amount of times i try solo hunting for food and a fight gets interrupted by people backing up the person I'm attacking is so frustrating. I'm not doing it to KOS, I'm hungry!

I came to official from community a few days ago. I've been solo and making my Cera to sub I've made it with my own made up rules. Trust no one, Always stay on the move, If you hear a roar you hide or leave the area,If a lag spike happens as you walk. Ppl are nearby. I know most of all the corspe spots by memory and I never have issues with water of food. I stay clear from Hotspot and always roam the outer edges. I have a speed build. Nothing else ever catches me ifi get into trouble.

Playing solo before you reach adult is just being meat. You should be able to grow in single player and transfer into multi.

You are right. This game is an amalgamation of poor game design decissions. The only way to play solo is small fast dinos like raptors that can feed off small critters and oc fast herbs like campto or struthi who find enough food and can usually escape. Bigger herbs are also ok as along as you stay away from hotzones where the mixpacker scum hangs out. That trophy thing though is really an insanely stupid idea since no juvi can kill an adult anyway but they just gave toxic mixpackers another reason to kill random dinos. they see strolling around so the devs not only failed to help solo people growing faster they even reward the bad people for their toxic behaviour. Not like juvis in groups already have a huge advantage right..

there are always groups of herbivores that will kill you for no reason when you are a herbivore too and there is always a group of carnivores that hunt you down for no resonance like young, juvenile, sub-adult dinosaur and spend all their time in respond areas where all people respond when people where kill

I started playing POT a few months ago lately I haven’t been playing it just got dry and boring even with the update . Cuz I play solo and like to enjoy my self and immerse into whatever I’m playing lol . The main thing I don’t like is not running into anyone . I don’t wanna fight everyone I see. Sometimes me and another Dino just look and pass each other . But I would like a hearing system that pops up on screen so we know if someone close by or , a tracking system that would be maybe the best option idk. Very fun game but definitely needs to grow . It got mad potential

I 100% agree as a guy who started playing a week ago its not only hard but also boring on your own and also you don't know how to do a lot because the tutorial doesn't cover enough they need more ai and I personally think having a solo buff would help for growing I chose the bird as my first dino and it took forever to get it to adult but it was just so boring watching people in packs while all I did was quest and watch global chat for entertainment

This is why AI needs to be added, perhaps with an option to herd up/pack up with AI of the same species. Maybe the VC wheel can set aggression levels of them. Sort of like Ark.

Played an Allo. Had an experience with a Trex grouped with some flying dinosaurs. The flyers pecked at me relentlessly while I tried to run from the Trex Over 3 areas they chased me! Until FINALLY I was worn out and the rex caught up with me. Game isn't fun for solos. Its barely fun for a Duo. Aggressive groups will roam the servers just looking to kill other players, and there will be groups of 3-4 people just set on griefing. This game needs a lot of work.

I can agree that walking into this game you can feel "oh this game may not be for me" if youre not one for making friends but want to have a team because you gotta stretch your neck out a bit to trust people. My friend has that perspective with COD actually, he enjoys the team but cant do the solo modes because its too much pressure. I rescind my second sentence on my previous comment tho that sounded a bit shotty lol

It really depends on what you play. I think Sarco is very solo friendly as long as you don't mind waiting for prey to come by. Plus you do get expanded food with fish.

I honestly really enjoy solo play on PoT, I dont play pot for pvp though so im probably pretty biased, but I play because I just enjoy being a dino and I enjoy the scenery or people watching " dino watching I guess lol" . I dont hover around hot spots and I like to roam the whole map. I think because I play daily I also know all the water spots and corpses are, It's come from some trial and error, but I know the map pretty well now and that helps me out, like I've never seen any hot spring low on water quality. if you just keep your food topped up as a carni w critter dens you should be fine, I never really find myself wanting too much for food and water as a solo player, I also spent many years playing the isle though which at times felt like a starvation simulator so pot is much better to me in comparison w food and water drain LOL. And if you are frustrated by mix packing there are tons and tons of community servers where that is not allowed and they have more realistic rules, or even some that have not many rules but still no mix packing, if you just join and play on one of those running into a mix pack is very rare. I play daily on a few different servers and havent had any issues w mix packing or large groups randomely jumping me. but to be fair I also play speedy dinos like utah and Im not usually on a slow moving dinosaur, so maybe that makes me harder to jump, if someone attacks me I usually just run away and have no issue getting away. playing slow powerful guys is unappealing to me personally. I think solo play can be really fun but it's really what you make of it I guess and how you prefer to play. if you play this game mainly to get into challenging fights as slow moving apexes I can see why this might be frustrating for some people. Im excited for the future of path of titans and the changes the devs are working on to make this game fun for all kinds of players. you can tell alot of care and love has gone into this game

IMO grow a raptor, easy to find other raptors and they’re hard to catch at times. I grew all my carnivores on official and mostly solo. It’s torturous but stay on the edge of the map, you’ll be fine but nothing is certain haha!

I've grew almost every dino solo on official and mostly play solo on official, the game is super easy people just always go to the hot spots, get killed then complain the game is too hard

Just takes some getting used to need to learn where the low traffic areas are need to know where the food is and need to know which areas have the quests you can complete the quickest and then get to safety (otherwise known as a bush) gondwa is a no go though cant stand that map solo theres someone round every corner
