We lived in San Antonio for 18 years... just moved to FL in 2021, after vacationing here for 20+ years. Love, love, love it here! We can go to the beach whenever we want (15 min drive), sit outside in 80 degree weather in March while it's freezing in TX... love the laid-back lifestyle, the green grass all year around, the different wildlife... best move we've ever made!!

Dude, I'm moving back to Florida too. My top five reasons: #1 beaches & boating (I have 22' Mako); #2 property taxes (1/3rd the cost); #3 those typical rain & thunderstorms (relaxes the hell out of me); #4 crystal clear springs; #5 family. Yes, I love Texas too; the people and what this state represents in terms of liberty. I just miss Florida beaches way too much.

It all comes back to the beach for me! 😂 I hope that you all do try something new though because it never hurts to try new things. And this is in all South Florida if you move to Tampa 90k and if you move to central Florida around 80k to 75k . School are more expensive food is more expensive gasoline oi is more expensive and even daycare costs are higher. And didn't even think you can rent or buy a house without flooring insurance and let me tell you most of them they only cover 10%. The state is absolutely gorgeous but and definitely more safe than Texas, but extremely expensive also.
