I found that the power company sends commands to there connected devices. Through (in California) rule 21 causes in some cases many issues that are miss diagnosed. Just a thought. We had a lot of Arc Fault shutdowns on a Delta Inverter we got from Signature Solar it wasn't the Inverter or Arc Faults. When we removed the power company from it no more problem.

@9:45, AC coupling flickering. I have SMA SI6048US x2 with about 40 Enphase micros AC coupled behind it. When the house loads roughly balance the solar production, in the morning or evening, certain LED lights will flicker. My theory is the main SMA inverters can only switch between charge & discharge so fast, maybe 10-20 times per second? And that's about the flicker rate. I feel like it's a feature, flickery light at that time of day means we're at zero battery current, solar matching the loads.
@benssolarandbattery2 жыл бұрын
I've definitely seen it with other inverters, but this was much more pronounced. It was a pretty terrible strobing. I like your theory!

Several years ago I purchased some new double pane insulating windows with a lifetime warranty. The price was very competitive and the workmanship was good to excellent. Now 15 or so years have passed and the windows are needing a bit of service on the screens and bottom ledge seals. The company no longer exists so what good is a LTW? The windows themselves were well worth the investment and saved me tons on the electric bill.

I have a super clean install with 24 LG panels 7.86 kW and a NeoVolta total 24.4 kW battery backup. The neoVolta main cabinet is 14.4 kilowatts and 7.8 kW inverter it will take DC AC and a generator all into the same panel and I have an additional 10 kilowatts in another enclosure that's wired in all with LFP batteries. It's almost a year old never had a problem it will do 14 circuits in a critical load panel and more circuits if you double up on the breakers. It charges fully by around noon time on a sunny day and it will run almost the entire house except I don't have the 240 volt AC or my Tesla to charge on the battery but I can charge the Tesla with a 20 amp circuit 110 volt on the neovolta if I had to. Of course with that metering and time of use in Southern Cal I just charge it between midnight and 6:00 a.m. if your plan on getting rid of that problem in getting a rock solid system the neovolt is the way to go best price 10 year warranty and the best part is every part in the unit is replaceable so it doesn't need to be taken off the wall and sent in for service like the power wall. If after looking after our website you are serious then let me know were they reply. Maybe I can get you a discount.

I don't have that type of batteries but it's known that when those batteries are not placed in the upright or top up position it will reduce the capacity because the electrolyte won't reach the top plates when it is standing on the side, Also it shorten the life of the battery in that position.

I'm definitely not a software engineer, but how hard is it to double check an update before you send it out? Or better yet, make a product that doesn't need constant updates? Not going to mention other names here, but it's been a major problem with a number of companies.

@@benssolarandbattery The stories I could tell you but we'd be here for hours. No one cares, no one is responsible, managers have no clue and all they're interested in is propping themselves up and creating "diversity points" that have nothing to do with the quality of the product they create which they attempt to do at the lowest price possible. There is no barrier to calling oneself a software engineer and cranking out shitty code that gets released by even more clueless managers and organisations. Imagine if we built bridges and skyscrapers the way we build software where the prevailing belief is "change is free" and we can agile our way out of any problem with little to no analysis at all.

@@benssolarandbattery It’s actually pretty hard. If it wasn’t written well from the beginning, it’s impossible to maintain and debug. Developers who can do this kind of work well are rate, if they leave the firm, usually a junior developer maintains the code and the hole get deeper.

Ben, my neighbor installed one of these systems about 3 years ago and tried talking me into getting one. He preached accolades to me about how great it was and the best system made. Three months ago he replaced it with two Sol-Ark 12K's after two years of similar problems of the one you have there after looking at my Sol-Ark 12K system. Did Solar Edge quit making the SEAUTO-TX-5000 auto transformer?
@benssolarandbattery2 жыл бұрын
I've removed a bunch of them. The last one was 2 sonnens paralleled, but they don't parallel, so 2 separate systems feeding separate load centers on the same house. Replaced it with 2 Sol-Ark 12k and a wall full of Simpliphi batteries. I think Solaredge did stop making the autotransformer. It was used in their older Stor-Edge.

Hi Ben!!! Nice to see your videos again... But your title to this video is a little bit misleading... this is an All-in-One system, not just a battery or battery bank... Obviously, there are serious communications problems between the elements of this solution... I agree with some of the comments here: I would separate the components and make a whole new system under my specs and convenience... specially, on the battery side... I see that the system uses an OutBack inverter... what batteries is it using? If I could get my hands on it, I would take those batteries and make a battery bank with my own BMS, then take care of its communications with the inverter... That would be way much better... Hope to see more videos from you...!!! See ya...!!!
