I respect you are intelligent man. Good job. I've being having second thoughts about being a turbo diesel engine seems complicated. Most mechanics around don't dare to fix it. I must replace my turbo and I'm very tempted to try doing it myself as I already replaced my clutch and all rubber engine supports, also the suspension rubber mounts. I spent a month below the van blood tears a sweat on it. In Mexico is not holding it's value as I thought it would be but I still think its great for me and my lifestyle. I just wish I would have a softer suspension for mild offroad. Mine is just the commercial version and use it for traveling with my dirtbike and now also as daily driver.

Good points, all true I’m sure. My 15k mileage T6 (2017) flywheel is ok so far! Self converted with the exception of the dreaded HiLo Surf roof which I’ve finished properly to eliminate leaks. My battery has been a nightmare too. Marriott VW made excuses until warranty ran out. Still working on that myself but did the same patch (solar + Ablemail AMT12). Door strap broke as I opened it on a windy day, messing up paintwork too. Timing belt and water pump interval and cost for VAG is another bad. Doing it myself this year. Otherwise, apart from prices, still loving it!!

Good video, man. I also watched your top 5 reason not to buy a transporter :). I am on a "medium" budget and looking forward to get a second hand transporter and convert it to camper van. Which model and year would you recommend?... reliability, value for money, smart choice. I'd really appreciate... I have knowledges about motorcycles, built and custom, engineer and good on diy but a bit new on vans and campervans.

Reliability is everything and VWs are dreadful. A tredy, gizmo strewn van is useless when you are stranded in the middle of nowhere. I have a less trendy Vivaro which is 1000% better, no rust and high liability, along with the Trafic will soon become the standard and replace the Transporter. It has already taken over the van market in Europe. I first watched the reasons not to buy and like most young people "trendy" is king, us oldies, we know reliability is everything...see you at the side of the road, as we drive past.
