I saw professionals for years before I was able to stay sober and reasonably happy. The only one that was able to help at all was a therapist who was in recovery herself... I'm all for seeking professional help, but for the disease of alcoholism, the only thing that has helped me recover is a conscious connection with God which is what the steps are designed to bring about... I love listening to Russ because he's not afraid to talk about God. I still seek professional help. I've found it super beneficial to be in therapy, and the book talks about seeking professional help and how God has blessed us with many competent doctors and psychiatrists etc. But there are some things in life that no human power can help with. That's why God has become the central fact of my life and has entered my heart and my mind in a way which is indeed miraculous!! ♥️ 🙌🙏
